Stayed here for a week during my holiday in early November. Awesome experience and the landlord is super cool!

best place for holiday & trip with family & friends

Hotel ni belakang Nova Highlands hotel, kiranya under same management but different building. 1 nama Nova Highland, 1 nama The Retreat. masa awal2 datang confuse juga. di bawah hotel ada fun fair untuk budak2 main, sebelah kanan hotel ada bee farm, sebelah kiri hotel ada mini zoo farm. tempat bersih dan cantik. malam agak bising sebab bnyak buat homestay sini.

The quieter part of town further up the hills with lower density hotels and less traffic. This is conveniently located across the Boh Tea plantation entrance (easy to miss) and the Cameron Square Mall which houses local fast food chains like Teh Tarik Place, Old Town White Coffee, and convenient stores like MyNews (at least at the time of writing). There is also a small amusement park and a bazaar like market in the evenings along with a bee farm, all within 100 meter radius. Don't set the expectations too high and you'll enjoy the tranquility better 😁

The units are well maintained and comfortable. Only the sewerage is a bit of concern.

The 3 room apartment was cozy and spacious. It's located in the midst of the hub of activity, perfevt for a family retreat. However, cleanliness can be improved.

Review:

Pros:
- fast Internet.
- spacious.
- good communication by some staff, especially Samantha.
- easy check in.
- good quality TV.
- clean overall, including bathrooms.
- location walking distance from shops, restaurants, farm, etc.

Info:
- need to pay 100rm deposit before checking in. Possible scam.
- no toaster.
- only 1 towel per person, for 4 days.
- exit is through car park, up a ramp.
- no water machine or filter. Bring your own bottles.

Cons:
- mattresses are too thin, springs digging into back.
- not enough towels or pillows.
- Everywhere in the apartment is a list of charges. Locked cupboards with threats to guests. Very uninviting and threatening.
- Some staff such as Sabrina are so rude.
- wanted late check out and it was possible, as they agreed, but 50rm per hour. They didn't say 'no' because of next guest, but just to get more money out of us!
- very difficult to get deposit back. We've left and no details on it, I believe it's a scam!
- parking is difficult as it's not assigned and always full.
- living room has seating for 3 which isn't enough when it's an apartment for 6.
- microwave was burning and faulty and wasted my time in getting it replaced.

Conclusion: 6/10 due to the uncomfortable mattresses, uninviting attitude and the manner to extort every ringgit out of the guest. Still haven't had my deposit back, as nobody came to check on check out. It did the job but be careful before staying here.

Too crowded, noisy and not clean but the location is very good

Malang dapat cheapskate host. Bantal berbau. Masuk check katil ada rambut2 tinggal. Sah tak tukar cadar dan alas bantal. Tuala tak ada. Kipas berhabuk tebal. TV ada, tapi perhiasan aja la. Bekas sabun pun pakai bekas air mineral aja. Ceit..
