For me this is a very special place. The last & only tin dredge in Malaysia. Preserve & they keep it originality for new generation viewers. The friendly tour guide will bring us on the dredge exploring with tour information around 40 minutes. This place also has recreation areas such as kids playground, maze garden park & drinks stall under the tree. Worth & recommended place to visit!

One of the last few colonial era Tin Dredges in the Kinta valley that has been restored for tourism. Fun half day activity not far from Ipoh. Guided tours are scheduled through out the day so you will be allocated timeslots. Tour lasts approx 1-2 hours onboard the actual Dredge which was pretty cool. Savor a slice of history brought to life by our childhood comic - Lat.

An important slice of Malaysian history. With the support of the state Sultan, I am relieved the Perak government has taken over the last remaining tin mine dredge. The guide, Amin, was instrumental in describing the workings of a tin mine dredge with knowledge and humour. It was a very informative tour. Every Malaysian should come here to learn about our proud history and Malaysia's role in tin mining.

Great place to visit and learn about tin mining and dredging. A key part of Malaysia history and economy of the past. Please note there are fixed tour schedule if you intend to follow the tour. The only way to enter and see the inside of the dredge is to follow the guided tour which takes 30-40 mins.

Tour of the Tanjung Tualang Dredge no. 5 (TT5) was informative. The guide was very good to explain and show us the various sections of the dredge. The government has done a good job to maintain this dredge as our country's heritage for future generations to see.

A well managed tourism spot but still there are some facilities & spots under construction. A good place to visit if you like historical places with facts & tips which for me.. I love to know & learn. Please bring shades/umbrella as it freaking hot but I really love the concept the management bring to the place. Cant wait to visit this place again once the facilities & other areas open for public.

This is must visit stop for anyone whole is interested in the history of Malaysia. The tin mining and dredging industry grew up here and now we are world leaders in this field.
This amazing machine needs to be preserved as it is the last of it's kind.
Getting here is a bit of challenge as it is of the beaten track but it was worth the stop. Entrance fee for Malaysian Adults is a mere RM 8 and tourists RM15, which goes towards the conservation and upkeep of the grounds.
Good Job to MBInc for taking over and preserving our history

Nicely hosted with tours each 1 hour on the half hour eg 1030, 1130am, 1230pm etc

Great visit but the periphery areas are still being developed.

Very nicely built up place. Put your geography and history knowledge into this place. There is a guided tour that comes with it with a topped up fee. Didn't manage to go due to time constraints, but would definitely go in future. Highly recommended.

A piece of Malaysia history. Ticket price including tour guide was RM18/pax. Tour inside the TT5 took around 30 minutes. Tour guide Mr.Sara explain each detail regarding the TT5 and answer all our question. It was an enjoyable experience.

I would recommend this place as the hidden gem of Perak. The visit was not planned as we drove from Teluk Intan to Lumut. At first I thought it might be a remote and spooky location 😬. The place is actually near the main road and I was amazed when I saw a real kapal korek which is normally seen in the history book. The entry ticket was reasonable around RM8 but if you want a tour in the kapal korek you need to add another RM6( forgot already the actual price ..please refer to the website😌). If the weather is good the kapal korek tour will be on as scheduled but if it rains the tour will be off due to safety reasons. The premise is actually not fully finished since there are still many construction works going on. In the future this attraction might be better. By the way there are a lot of fish in the lake which you can feed using your bare hand. Your kids will love it!

Historical place.. come support them to preserve this one last dredger in Malaysia or else our kids can't see it anymore. There's so many things to do here. We can walk into a maze or challenge ourselves to the limit on the obstacles at the Escape or perhaps strolling or cycling leisurely around the place.

A very good experience. We spent 2 hours there. Entrance fee at rm8 and rm10 for guided tour in the dredge. With just rm8 we can explore the place which have goats and sheep, rabbits. Good place for photo shoot. They also sell fridge magnet at rm5. Better come early. Quite hot. We reached there at 10 and took the tour at 10.30. by 12 the parking lot already full with cars and buses.

A magnificent engineering feat in the 1930’s, during the tin mining boom era in Kinta Valley. The tin dredge has stopped operation in 1982, and now remains a historical treasure. Well done MBI for keeping the dredge in good condition and providing an educational exposure to the younger generations to appreciate mechanical engineering.

Very educational n fun way to spent with family. Underage kids not recommended as the tour in the ship itself can be quite dangerous with heavy equipment n tools but trip to the maze next door are more suitable

This attraction is a must visit! Such an amazing piece of history well preserved and presented. The guided tour is highly recommended as the knowledgeable guides will take you on a journey back in time as you walk through the tin dredge. The tour took approximately 20 - 30 minutes but there’s more to do at the nearby park which includes a maze. Great place for history lovers and for those Instagram shots.

We came super early before 9am to avoid crowd and queue. They will give safety helmet and the tour takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The guide is experienced and knowledgeable. He answered every question asked. RM18/adult to visit the guided tour tin dredge and maze park. They gave us free postcard at the cafe near the maze park and if we can find the post box in the maze park, they will sponsor the setem and post them to us.. We manage to find it. Yeayyy. Love the maze concept. Love everything about the tour except please wear your mosquito patch cause they are plenty of them in the maze area. Surau is available.

It was an enriching experience to learn about tin mining by witnessing the last tin dredge and listening to the guided tour. There is also a wonderful maze garden where you can enjoy walks. It is a highly recommended visit for family.
