A national park crawling with leeches and abundant waterfalls with a river passing right through its heart. Lodgings and guide available, but you'll need a permit to get clearance to enter this park. Well worth all the trouble to get in and trek up to the waterfalls.

Some previous trekking/hiking experience required, this isn't a path for those physically unfit to take. Watch your footing and expect to get wet (up to waist high waters) if you want to get to certain waterfalls. Every waterfall is spectacular in its own right.

P.S. Bring salt or a lighter to get the leeches off of you. Spare socks for when you inevitably bleed out into your shoes/boots too.

My favorite place for a dip. Been here since before Taman Negara opened.

A wonderful place to be visited by the nature lover. Away from the hassle if the city. The scenery will amaze every guest who appreciates the nature. The guests will be entertained by the friendly local people and nature symphony. A recommended place for a weekend getaway. Please use the anti-leeches socks to prevent the attack while trekking. Explore the germ of National Park.

Great place for hiking. Just remember to bring non slippery shoes cuz its gonna be very slippery in the forest. Also bring anti Leech socks. Or a bottle of water + salt. Good for leeches

We were in Kampong Peta and got our guide Lop to show us around and guide us through the jungle. It was an experience to never forget! We loved, loved, LOVED it! We got 2 nights in the chalets, tubing on the river, jungle trek to the waterfalls, info about what to use in the jungle and what can be used from the jungle, how to design traps and how to blow a blowpipe. It was really awesome and I have great admiration for the Orang Asli and their way of combining modern life with life in the jungle! If you are not too jittery, a definite must-go.

We arrived at the Selai Endau Rompin in the morning. The first day we trekked to takah pandan water falls. The second day visited Takah Tinggi waterfall. We engaged in water tubing on the third day and returned. Endau Romin National Park is an expanse of mainly primary tropical rainforest in the south of Peninsular Malaysia, named after two major rivers, the Endau and Rompin Rivers which derive their watershed from here, and occupying a total area of 87,000 ha. The park straddles the states of Pahang and Johor, with the Johor side being gazetted as a national park (49,000 ha), while the Pahang side (38,000 ha) is still a state park (if not mistaken) and managed separately by the Pahang state authorities.
