COB UUM

Northern University of Malaysia) was established on 16 February 1984 under the Universiti Utara Malaysia 1984 Order. The university was corporatised on 23 April 1998.
Initially, the business and management courses were delivered under a faculty system. In 2008, the faculties were merged to form the College of Business. The curriculum includes business administration, accountancy, finance, economics, banking, marketing, human resource management, insurance and risk management, Islamic banking and finance, muamalat, operations management, and technology.
I strongly recommend for all students who want to learn and get high quality education.

Currently I am working as a Visiting Senior Lecturer at School of Economics, Finance and Banking, College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
• 2000-2012
I have initiated my experience with Agricultural Research Corporation (ARC) of Sudan as a junior researcher. ARC has the mandate of research on Agricultural Policy and Development with special emphasis on agricultural farming systems. In the course of my work I was exposed to farming system research, small holder agriculture and implications of Government Policy on Agricultural Development. As a researcher I participated in program design, field design and program evaluation. This contributed to the Corporation been a major industry player in Agricultural Development in the country. Currently, I am conducting and participate in different research studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

• 2011- 2012
Post-Doctoral Researcher at Economics Department, School of Social Science, Universiti of Sains Malaysia (USM), from February 2011 to present.
Description: Conducting different research studies under supervision of the Social Science School of USM University. These research include numerous programs pertaining to socioeconomic activities such as assessment and mapping of poverty, food security situation, agricultural policies, agricultural finance, environmental economics, resources use optimization, evaluation of on-farm irrigation water use efficiency and others by applying relevant analysis techniques and models including suitable software program such as GAMS, CROPWAT4, Stochastic Frontier and some of the other normal software programs of computer.
Regarding the issue of water resources:
The PhD research conducted as a collaborative work between University of Khartoum and University of Giessen in Germany where I did my Ph.D. Research Internship at Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management, Institute of Farm and Agribusiness Management. This period has had stretched my academic scope through interacting with diversified groups there all over the world shared and exchange their different experiences.

The PhD Thesis entitled:

Economic Aspects and Water Use Efficiency in Public Irrigated Schemes of the River Nile State of Sudan

The research centered mainly on economics and efficiency of water-use and other resources-use management. This study exposed me to research issues in macro and micro economics. The research applied integrated statistical methods included advanced econometric techniques and mathematical programming models such as CropWat4, Stochastic Frontier and General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) in water use efficiency and resources use optimization besides the common computer software programs such SPSS and Excel. The study was a very fruitful; it gave me opportunity for further research when I was offered the position of a Post Doctoral Researcher in 2011/2012 and later as a Visiting Scientist in Feb. 2012 till present at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Furthermore, because I am working at academic field I am interested to know the experience of others particularly in field area that why I participated recently in a unique event at USA after I have been awarded a Short-Term Scholar at Brown University of USA (2012) emphasis on: Climate Change and its Impacts: Regional Coupled Human-Natural Systems and Evidence-Based Policy Making, Providence, Rhode Island, USA, from Saturday, June 9 to Saturday, June 23, 2012, which is relevant to the offered position.

College of Business (COB) is the main pillar of UUM. Under its umbrella a number of Schools intake undergraduate to Post graduate students in different program. It is AACSB accredited and souring upwards.
