Gamma Monterrey Gran Hotel Ancira

A classic colonial (actually from the Porfirato) hotel. Lovely lobby, good restaurant, lively bar. The rooms are nicely updated, but, since they were built 100+ years ago, a little on the small side for modern tastes. The bed was very comfortable, but I would have liked a sitting chair as well as a desk chair. The Wifi and A/C worked well. The desk staff were friendly and competent.

The hotel restaurant has an uninteresting menu (but that seems to apply to every restaurant in Monterrey), but the food was much better cooked than we expected. The salmon was exceptional: lightly charred on the outside, rare on the inside.

All of the downtown sites that you want to visit are within walking distance and the neighborhood felt very safe.

Finding coffee anywhere nearby at 6:00 is impossible, but a Starbucks a block away does open at 7:00.

We had an exceptional stay! Bring you car and they will valet and validate. The hotel lobby had an old and elegant. The staff is very helpfully and friendly. The room we got had a little fridge and the bed and pillows were very comfy. The water in the shower Is weird but we did get it hot. The room does not have a microwave but I didn’t hesitate nor did it bother me to go to the lobby for them to warm it up. The ac was working well and so was the tv. There is an Oxxo on the corner and easy access to the macro plaza and barrio antiguo. Very centric! I would stay here again

This beautiful hotel is emblematic. It was built over 100 years ago and it keeps the elegance and glamour of the first days (as shown on their gallery and museum).

This is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) hotels in Monterrey. It has beautiful construction. They rooms are cozy and very good for the rates charged. Wifi worked consistently. TV channel selection was very good.

Breakfast buffet was excellent, all seemed to be cooked from fresh ingredients, choices of Mexican dishes like Menudo and Pozole and made to order omelette.

Will stay again if the opportunity presents itself.

Very nice place to stay, and for an affordable price. We were here for a few nights over New Years and they had a great celebration that we did not attend. They kept the noise to a reasonable level as not to disturb guests who didn't want to party so that was a bonus.

Great location with lots to see and do within walking distance. Some great cheap, authentic and local food was available minutes walk from the hotel. We are not big hotel people and prefer hostels or air BnB but this place was good enough we would stay again.

This hotel is my first choice when visiting Monterrey. The classical architecture is amazing, the staff are friendly and speak English, and you can’t beat the location. I love staying here!

The Gamma Monterrey Ancira is a wonderful hotel. The staff is amazing and always ready to assist and best of all everyone seemed to speak English, even the bellman. The rooms are nicely appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The showers are strong and the water hot. I stayed on the 2nd floor and I could not believe how quiet the rooms are despite being in the middle of the historic district. The breakfast offers everything anyone could possibly want, it is delicious and best of all it is fairly priced. If you want an amazing luxury hotel with a wonderful location, free parking and well trained and helpful staff look now further. I look forward to staying at the Gamma Monterrey Ancira on my next trip to Monterrey.

Beautiful neoclassical architecture.
Very clean and we'll kept, amazing polite staff.
There is a starbucks inside and some jewelry stores. There is art everywhere, every detail is crafted.
Pillows were comfortable, sheets clean and fluffy, 5/5 stars
toilet paper quality was 4/5 stars.
Bathroom towel quality 3/5 stars.
This is definitely a place we will be staying at again. Love this place.
Free parking, and the LOCATION IS PRIME! SO MANY RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.

WOW, Grand Hotel Monterrey (NL) Mexico lives up to the "Grand" name at great prices too.
Walking into the Grand lobby, you are taken back to the golden age of buildings. The lobby is a great relaxing place to mill and mingle.
Location: Centro, downtown, main mall, across the street from a very large public mall where you can walk to waterway and dining.
The room is beautiful, large and has a small fridge too.
Bathroom is modern and clean and shower water pressure is great too.
I've become accustomed to large brand hotels having in person pricing 2 or 3 times higher than web pricing... Grand hotel walk up pricing was similar to internet (slightly higher) and included FREE breakfast buffet for 2 and FREE valet car parking. I recommend this hotel

This is one of the nice hotels in Monterrey Mexico. Perfectly located in the comercial area of downtown and close to very nice and really good restaurants. The staff is very attentive and are always looking for ways to make you feel more comfortable. The place is super clean and AC everywhere and smells good. The restaurant of the hotel is good, specially the buffet amd the room service is fast. The prices are really good and the building is beautiful.

This is my go to hotel when I visit Monterrey. It is conveniently located downtown, close to museums, restaurants, bars, etc. It is a little pricey, but totally worth it. I always get a great night sleep in the big king size beds with nice comfy linens and pillows. I usually don't bathe in hotels (I shower), but I do take some time and soak in the bath there. The valet and concierges are very friendly. I also enjoy the French classical architecture, the gym and pool are very lovely too. I highly recommend.

This beautiful historic hotel is in the heart of Monterrey and is close to shopping, dining, and museums. The rooms are comfortable and the lobby is gorgeous. A Starbuck's is located in the lobby area and a restaurant in the middle of the ground floor. The restaurant food is delicious. All the staff from the hotel maids, to the reception desk, and the restaurant staff and helpful and friendly. If you are interested in history, you can visit a the little museum on the ground floor that describes the hotel history starting before Mexico became independent of Spain.

Grand hotel! Located in the heart of the city. Lots to experience daytime, however many places seem to close early (it was a Wednesday night).
Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy and the bed sheets are perfect! You'll love it!

Exactly at the centre of the city. Close to the financial part. Great buffet. Nice and big rooms. Cons: rooms walls dont have a mirror or painting hanging, looks too empty. Beds too soft

My husband and I arrived to Monterrey during Pal'Norte with accommodations elsewhere that were cancelled. Hotel Ancira very likely had one of the few hotel rooms available. We came to this conclusion after calling at least 6 other hotels. We were grateful for the room but the room had a few issues that I took to Rogelio's attention while he was at the front desk. Rogelio asked for some time to research the issues and personally made our stay a 5-star visit. His service to guests is invaluable to Hotel Ancira! TY Rogelio!

Hotel is awesome and a historic place to stay for any reason at all. Love the singing canaries and music in the lobby. What a calming place to relax.

For me, the "Gran Hotel Ancira" is the best in Monterrey, Mexico, I have been playing the Grand Piano, since 1970, first with a Group of three, Percussionist, me in the Piano and Drummer, then I was a Soloist, in the 80's. Lately I talked to the Manager, in 2019, because staying in the Hotel, I noticed the Grand Piano needed some attention, I offer to the Lady don't charge anything just 2 Dinners during the weekend, but she told me at that time she had an Accordionist the Weekend, after that, the Pandemic broke and everything changed, but as soon as this stop a little, I will try to be the Pianist again. For the most part it was good. The only issue is that I thought they would provide shampoo, soap, water for my second night but they didn't.
