Casa Gecko

My partner and I stayed at Casa Gecko for 3 months, and we can’t recommend it enough. The apartment is located in a quiet, residential, and safe neighbourhood that is a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city. The beds are comfortable, the shower is hot with good pressure, and the kitchen is set up well with a small fridge, hot plate, and coffee maker.

But, the reason why we would come back to Casa Gecko in a heart beat, is because of the family who owns it. They are extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. Mr. Alejandro is also an excellent tour guide who showed us all around Oaxaca. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier and can’t wait to be back some day!

I stayed for 3 nights at Casa Gecko and it immediately felt like home. It’s a cosy place to stay in Oaxaca and the family that owns the place is really friendly & ready to help with everything. I fully recommend it!

The staff was extremely helpful. The place was clean and the kitchen was easy to cook in. They provide water which was super nice. Good water pressure and temperature. Nice location, about a 15 min walk to the Centro. But the owners were so nice and I would return for sure. Thanks for the hospitality!

Casa Gecko is an excellent choice for a stay in Oaxaca! Clean and cozy with a shared kitchen per floor. The place is small and you immediately feel at home! It's at walking distance to all the attractions of the city centre and near public transport. It is family owned and they are really nice and helpful. Definitely 5 star :-) .

Casa Gecko was a great "home away from home" for a few months. The location is a 20 minute walk from centro and near an excellent vegan restaurant. There are also a couple of gyms nearby and its a short walk away from a bus stop, which takes you throughout the city. The main reason I recommend this property is because of the family that runs it. They are always a phone call away if any issue arises and tries their best to make your stay a comfortable one. Out of all the apartments I stayed throughout the world, I believe this one is the best managed.

El lugar es excelente! Buena ubicación , se puede ir observando las preciosas calles del centro de Oaxaca hasta llegar al zócalo (aprox 10 minutos) una calle segura e instalaciones limpias!
Muy recomendado y lo MEJOR aceptan Mascotas.

This is THE place to stay in Oaxaca city, we stayed there for 2 nights and it was great! Our visit to aoaxaca it would have been half of what it was without finding this place. It’s walking distance to the centre in a quiet neighborhood and the house is clean and has everything you need for your stay. We will definitely stay here if we go back to Oaxaca city.

It was indeed really good decision to stay here, the room was very clean and owners were extremelly helpfull and nice and the location is very close to the center. They gave us a lot of very valuable recommendations and tips what not to miss. Also the price is favourable in terms of such overall quality. They even gave a birthday present to my wife. Es un lugar agradable, el servicio muy coordial.

Tienes muy cerca el centro escasos 15 minutos del centro. Cerca de ahí tienes avenidas principales.

El lugar te hace sentir comodo por el diseño de la casa.
Puedes encontrar televisión, cocina integral pequeña, frigobar y terraza.

Además puedes reservar con anticipación
Costos muy accesible.

Es un gran lugar, las personas que nos atendieron fueron muy amables comprensibles y atentas, nos dieron indicaciones de dónde podíamos conseguir tours a los diferentes atractivos turísticos ceecanos que ofrece Oaxaca capital, y nos quedó cerca la ubicación a dónde debíamos asistir. Un gran lugar!!

Excelente lugar para descansar, realmente un lugar muy céntrico ideal para la familia, y lo que más me gusto que te entregan una llave para entrar y salir como mejor convenga, muchas felicidades!!

Linda casita, con recámaras acogedoras... Estuvimos tres noches y la pasamos bien 😃... Atención fue buena.

Un rincón agradable cerca del centro de la ciudad de Oaxaca. Estuvimos en dos habitaciones distintas ya que ibamos improvisando en nuestro viaje, en ambas estuvimos muy a gusto ya que tenían todo lo necesario y son cómodas. La atención de Alejandro ha sido de mucha ayuda y oportuna. El barrio donde se encuentra Casa Gecko es tranquilo y con todo lo necesario en los alrededores: tiendas de alimentos, restaurantes, paradas de autobús, etc. El Zócalo se encuentra a poco menos de 20 minutos caminando. 100% recomendable. Gracias!

Un lugar que invita a quedarse. Tiene todo lo necesario. Para ir al centro puedes tomar el bus o ir andando que será unos 20 minutos. La calle es muy tranquila y tiene varios lugares cercanos para comer o comprar. Tanto la chica que nos recibió como Alejandro el propietario, nos ayudaron y fueron muy hospitalarios.

El trato que recibimos de casa Gecko fue muy agradable, siempre fueron muy atentos con el fin de que nuestra estancia fuera lo más cómoda posible . Desde que recibimos el cuarto y durante la estancia el servicio de limpieza era excelente,buena señal del wi fi y buena ubicación. Dependiendo a que altura del centro quieras ir caminando son de 15 a 30 min.
La única sugerencia que haría es que en el cuarto sencillo nos hubiera gustado que incluyera una pequeña cocineta o algún utencilio básico de cocina como una cafetera o licuadora. También que hubiera más métodos de pago como Paypal o algo similar. Fuera de esos detalles recomendamos hospedarse ahí 100 %

Es un lugar muy agradable, limpio, seguro y acogedor. Es una excelente opción para estancias cortas. Los anfitriones muy amables.

Mi hospedaje fue muy tranquilo, un lugar muy bien ubicado, a 15 minutos del centro caminando, trasporte muy accesible y rutas que conducen a toda la ciudad, tiendas de conveniencia
y restaurantes cerca!
El hotel es un lugar muy tranquilo que apesar de estar tan cerca de una av principal es silencioso, lo que permite un descanso placentero, no hubo ningún inconveniente más que con la regadera, que sin demora lo host la reparo, de ahí en fuera una estancia placentera

Es un lugar muy agradable y acogedor. La habitación es amplia y con balcón. La cama es confortable y los detalles en la decoración son lindos. Puedes preparar tus alimentos o almacenarlos sin problema. Nunca faltó el agua caliente. Buena señal Wi-Fi.

Denia tiene mucha luz y su trato es excepcional siempre está al pendiente para dudas, recomendaciones o atenderte. Conmigo tuvieron detalles geniales por ser mi cumpleaños.

La casa queda a una distancia cercana al centro. Es seguro caminar hasta el centro (incluso por las noches). Casi frente a la casa venden una cena deliciosa, y muy cerca de allí, un café delicioso a muy buen precio.

Muy buena relación en costo-beneficio. Me agradó mucho la estancia en Casa Gecko. Y nunca sobra decir que Oaxaca es una belleza.
