small but amazing museum about frida kahlo’s life. no displays of original art but the replicas were incredibly well-displayed on back-lit panels that allowed you to see all the details in the paintings. we got there just in time to catch a guided tour, and the guide was amazing, lovely and knowledgeable without it being too information-dense. for someone who didn’t know anything about kahlo, it was an amazing introduction to her life and work. i loved the el dia de los muertos display with the colorful frame. the gift shop had some cute stuff, but i wish they sold some prints of kahlo’s paintings or art books

Wonderful museum and the guided tour was excellent! The tour is about 1 hour and goes through Frida Kahlo's life and art as well as Mexico's history. It's okay for kids although there are difficult topics.
With the tickets, you can get a 30% discount to the chocolate museum in Playa del Carmen.

A charming little museum with fabulous details of Frida's life. Great reproductions of her paintings.

Luisa was a wonderful guide, so knowledgeable, and her English is impeccable. Gave me so much of the backstory of those times in Mexico, so this is more than just about Frida. Well worth 1-1.5 hours of your time, especially if it's raining out.

What a great way to spend the afternoon in Playa. Isabel did a fabulous job as our guide. We learned so much about Frida, and love her even more than we did before. The tour is full of history as well. The guides work for tips so bring cash we had to come back to drop off our tip.

Guide was extremely detailed and very engaging. Loved the tour. The exhibit itself is not super big but we were able to spend 2 hours there.

Tour guide comes with admissions. General admission is 18. High school students is 15. Kids are free.

There are many different aspects of the exhibit that are more engaging like 360 videos. Overall the whole exhibit is gorgeous and great for pictures.

Highly recommend but a bit pricey I must say.

Beautiful exhibit and impressive staff! We decided to do a self tour instead of guided but they still interacted with us and have great insight into Frida. I wish the exhibit was bigger but it was still very engaging as is and I'm happy I got a chance to stop in.

Really enjoyed the tour of this small museum dedicated to Frida Kahlo, this is a small exhibition but also an immersive experience. Quality over quantity. Lovely guides and a wealth of Frida Kahlo gifts to suit every price range in the shop,

We loved the museum and the girl who explained us the life and work of the geneus Frida Kahlo.
The museum is small, it has few paintings but it's a great place to learn more about the painters life and artistic expression.
Highly recomended!

Wonderful place to visit to be part of Frida Kahlo's life, art and love. The museum guides are professional and share the backround stories of Frida's paintings. Although it's a small museum without original works it's a great tribute for unforgettable person and artist. We went there with a family (2 adult + 2 teenagers) and spent there around 1,5 hour.

Alejandra was our guide and she was amazing. Walked us through and told us everything about Frida. Slight odor of the building but happy we got to see the exhibit.

what a wholesome experience! I came in expecting a quick walk around the museum but instead Luisa gave us a tour with the full history of Frida and answering all the questions I’ve had about her journey. You can feel the passion and the knowledge that the workers have working there.

If you like to immerse yourself in a bit of culture and getting to know better the life of Frida Khalo, I will recommend visiting this museum, though here they don’t have the real paints but just images on a screen, the experience is very nice.
The museum is not that big.
The price is very affordable
The day I went was weekday and nobody was there so I could take my time to read all about her and take some pictures.
Well recommended

In depth of Frida presentations with great breakdown of some of her famous pieces and symbolism explained. Knowledgeable docents. No shortage of English speakers.

It was a nice experience, but this place can hardly be called a museum. There's not a single original painting that was done by Frida. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able answer a lot of our questions.
