Horrible experience. They saw that we were Americans and decided to see if they could shake us down. Thankfully, we spend over 100 days a year in Mexico, so we knew what they were trying to do. They claimed that they don't accept credit cards, despite having several visible machines that I pointed out to them. We didn't have many pesos left after spending a ton on tolls during our trip. They demanded US dollars at a ridiculous exchange rate. It took 15 minutes of patience to finally get them to use our credit card so we could leave.
