Absolutely terrific! It’s a stunning work of architecture and the exhibits were fascinating and beautifully presented. We spent 3 hours wandering and the photos don’t do it justice. It’s in such an unexpected location and absolutely worth the travel time from Oaxaca.

Beautiful building with gorgeous courtyard and a nice mask exhibition with Spanish/English descriptions. This place is huge, and it's worth the visit if passing by.
Also, it's free, so please donate at the entrance. There's a small building beside the Centro de Artes and has some rotating exhibitions. Worth it!

Fantastic rooms. Great mask exhibit. The view from the terrace reminds me of Southern France. It’s just beautiful. I particularly loved the Papel picados covering the windows on the upper floor.

The view was amazing! The weather is a lot cooler compared the the city of Oaxaca. The exhibits were nice, the best part was the view from one of the balconies and the papel picado on the windows on the second floor. It was free to go in and see the pieces, you can make a donation of your choosing at the entrance depending on your liking.

Awesome place, building and museum.
Loads of history in the old paper and textile museum, saved by Francisco Toledo and made into a public museum.
Great art, photography and historical expositions. Just a great place for a day out!

Definitely a place to go on the Oaxaca circuit. Incredibly beautiful Italian Renaissance bldg restored to become a spacious gallery, with wonderful grounds. While St Augustine has little else for tourists to visit just a half day trip there from Oaxaca is very worthwhile. The village is set in the foothills of the mountains with lots of water around. The caller exhibited a mind-blowing South African artist installation which is was mind altering. Go for the surprise.

Nestled in the rural community of San Agustín Etla lies CaSa, an arts center and school. Galleries showcase a range of art, from ancient Polynesian masks to digitally collaged prints; studios and workshops house modern equipment and showcase defunct machines of old. The building itself is a work of architectural art: portals of natural light, refracted stained glass, and reflection pools fill a campus built with Oaxaca’s famous volcanic cantera stone.

A wonderful experience. Exhibits change regularly. It's a must go. The two on-site shops are great if small. We loved it. So will you.

Really loved this relaxed day trip from Oaxaca. If you have time to spare or are gallery/museum -obsessed like myself I would definitely recommend. There was a small and well-thought photo exhibit on Graciela Iturbide but the real draw is the building itself and the views.

A fabulous day trip from Oaxaca. Francisco Toledo's personal art collection is exhibited in this historic building. The grounds are spectacular to walk around as are the unique terracotta steps. By donation and don't miss the paper factory

Getting to this area may be hard, but the architecture, plant life and views are so breathtaking and unfamiliar, they make you feel like you are in a surrealist film.

Love! Visited all the time during my long stay and enjoyed seeing the building in the different light. Gorgeous. The exhibits are all great too. I will work on my Spanish mainly so I can go to the workshops. Fabulous spot for the arty folk. I made many friends with people I had seen in the museum and then we ended up having great chats over coffee at Galajos. The museum is that kind of place. It invites conversation.

Amazingly beautiful and preserved architecture. Unfortunately, no artisans were present because it was closed for an exhibition setup, but we were able to enter the upper level, gardens, home, and museum. Exquisite.

This place is well worth a visit. We saw a great exhibit of Mexican and South American artist in an unusual and beautiful setting. The reflection pools around this building and the church next door create an artistic and peaceful photographic experience.
