Gaya's Guest House

We stayed with Gaya for a few days but that was probably the best decision for our stay in Mongolia!
Gaya is an amazing host and went out of her way to help us see the different aspects of Mongolia. You can feel that she genuinely enjoys having guests and help making the best possible trip.
Honestly, this short review can’t do her justice. I just hope we can go back again

Very nice guest house and great adventure tour offered to the Olkhon Valley. Around 10 minutes walk from Gaya's house over the hill, you can see an amazing view of grass hills with cattle.

There is a reason why this pace has so many great reviews!
I was in a motorbike trip while my bike broke down east of the city and I pushed it 7kms to the petrol station near Gaya's guest house. It was evening time and I couldn't get my bike fixed and Googled places to stay. Gaya's came up. I called and was answered straight away. I told her what had happened and within 2 minutes without me even asking her to she had come in her car to help me. She picked up my bags from the bike so I could push it to her guest house and leave it overnight. Her family were also lovely. I paid for a dorm room (a ger/yurt with 3 single beds in it) but they gave me one to myself for dorm room rates! (52,000MNT/night). Ger-ate place to stay too! Nice showers, comfy clean beds and the location couldn't be better. Thank you!

Gaya is very welcoming. I stayed there two nights meeting other travellers. It is very close to the Buddhist temple, and has a big supermarket near. They have internet and hot water.

Gaya went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and help in any way she can. The guesthouse also offers tours to areas such as the ‘little gobi’ and other locations. Would recommend to stay here who is coming to kharkhorin.

Stayed 2 nights at Gaya's. Good location, comfortable ger, and clean bathroom. Gaya is friendly and helpful to welcome us. Spoke great english. Gave us guidance and recommendations around the town. She also helped arrange our next ger stay near Mini Gobi. Highly recommended.

Gaya’s hostel was wonderful! They helped plan our trip, made sure we have a driver and guide! We had the best time traveling around Mongolia and seeing such amazing places! We will be traveling back to Mongolia and will definitely use Gaya’s hostel again!

Gaya is friendly and open-minded person. She will make sure you have a great stay. Everything was super clean and beyond what I expected for a place in small town.

Everthing was so great that we decided to stay 3 nights instead of 1.
Gaya, the owner, is very nice, friendly, and helpful.
We slept in a Ger (yourte). Beds were comfortable, everything was clean and there was a wood stove to keep us warm.
No need to say more, we recommend this place 200%.

Gaya is a great host, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Gaya organised our 5 day horse trek in the Eight Lakes region and came with us in the car to the start in the Orkhon Valley to make sure everything was in place. The guesthouse is good value too.

Great accommodation, slept with my friends in a ger tent like a baby, hot showers, European style toilets, warm hearted owner, wifi- we simply loved it!

The stay at Gaya's house was perfect! She was really kind since we first contacted her by mail. She came to pick us up from bus station, and offered really good dinner at good price.
She also has some tours to offer and information about Mongolia if you need to.
Everything it's really clean and well-prepared! We loved the place!
We payed around 8USD for shared ger (still we were just both of us there) and really nice breakfast!

The people who work here and wonderful, and go out of their way to help you. The yurts are cute and nice, the bathrooms are clean and well maintained.

Accommodations are good value, clean, and well maintained. The location is a little harder to get to since the direct road got washed away, but it’s only a short loop to find it, and you can trust it’s placement on google maps for last minute direction finding. The family that runs it is very friendly, particularly the two daughters who will most likely greet you with their excellent English and big smiles. The grandma makes good value trinkets, if that’s your thing, and even some traditional women’s clothes, though mostly catered to the smaller Mongolian frame. The food is fresh, cheap, plentiful and hearty, which is really the best you can ask for in a country not famed for its culinary exploits. Highly recommended.

I visited here with friends at the end of winter. She was incredibly helpful getting us to Kharkhorin from Ulaanbaatar and helped us explore Kharkhorin. She helped us organize a stay with a nomadic family, ride horses, and ride camels. The ger we stayed in at Gaya's was beautiful and all the families we interacted with were kind and helpful. The guesthouse is also in a great location to climb the surrounding hills to look at the valley and some historical places. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent service! Gaya and her staff were so helpful to me (for instance, she picked me up at the bus station and brought me there again by car) and organized my trip to Orkhon waterfall. By the way, she can also organize trips to other Mongolians regions, if you want. If you are interesting in travelling to Charchorin region, Gaya is your nr. 1.

Gaya's warmth and extreme helpfulness made my stay truly memorable. She not only picked up/dropped off us from the bus station, ordered return ticket, cooked delicious meals for us, but also arranged for us to spend a day with the nomadic family of her childhood friend - we were lucky to witness them moving gers and livestocks on their seasonal migration day.

My ger was perfectly functional with electricity and wifi signal, even a small sink. The shared common areas such as bathroom and shower was also clean. The guesthouse is situated in the city Kharkhorin and close to the monastery, but at the same time right on the grassland - amazing sunsets and views on the hills immediately behind.

Gaya is an exceptional friendly, symphatic and professional host and the heart of a superfriendly team. You can decide if you want to stay in a Ger or a room. Everything is nice and clean.
It’s a little outside of Kharkhorin, but possible to walk into town or to the monastery Erdene Dsuu.
