I was a but sceptical when reading so many negative reviews about Budget Riga Airport. My experience with them was the complete opposite. I got there and was greeted nicely, since my rental was paid already everything went very smooth. Less than 5 min later I had sorted out all papers and got the gives and directions to parking lot. There I met a guy who we went over the car to mark all damages. On the way back, I met another person who checked all the car and gave me a thumbs up that all is well. So overall a very pleasent experience. I will use them again!

Since there was no car model that I requested, they gave me a car of higher class. Whole process went smooth, I got my security deposit back in full two days later after the end of booking. Maybe there are problems if you scratch a car but I didn't, so everything went great

Very helpful service, following delayed flight and out-of-hours arrival in Riga. Great upgrade on the car and no problems on return (a cancelled flight meant changing return date and out-of-hours). Car was great; child seats not the best, but other than that can recommend and would use again.

No problems. A little slow on check-in. Got an upgrade. Possible damages are checked in very detail.

We had reserved a vehicle in Riga (Latvia) on the BUDGET France website. We paid in advance the €689 corresponding to the total rental amount.

- After returning from our trip, in August, we found that we had been charged an additional sum of €377.

- In reality, when taking possession of the vehicle, the BUDGET employee at Riga airport made us sign a document electronically on a tablet that we could not even read.

- It was only when we returned home that we saw that it was mentioned "Amount due: €377". We subsequently learned that this was an optional additional insurance offered by the employee and that we had very clearly refused at the BUDGET counter in Riga.

- We are seeking reimbursement of the €377 but BUDGET France does not want to hear anything.

- One important piece of advice to travelers: above all, avoid going through the BUDGET SIA IDEAL SERVICES agency at Riga airport due to their lack of honesty and respect for the customer. Please note, they are also an AVIS agency (same group as BUDGET).

STAY AWAY! DO NOT RENT FROM Avis/Budget car rental at RIX airport. I rented a car from Budget at RIX airport in 2017. When I checked out the car they claimed it had no damage and I was good to go. Went out to lot and car had obvious hail damage. No problem, had them mark it off and on my way. Returned car before opening hours because I had an early flight. Two weeks later I get a bill for almost $300 US for damage to the drivers door that I did not do. I washed this car and inspected it thoroughly before return and had NO additional damage. They artificially create damage and charge you for it. Again STAY AWAY!

BE CAREFUL! DON’T BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! It’s a scammer’s agency!!!!

I rent a car the last month, and two days after the drop off, the agency send me a mail for say there are damages on the car and charged me 120,01€ on my credit card! Despite my reclamation with photos who show the perfect state of the car at the moment of the drop off, they didn’t want to know and they keep the money. I’ m not the first one. I just wrote to the headquarters of Budget in order to alert them of these fraudulous methods.

Here is my situation:

I have an issue with confirmation number # 14091544LV5 in which I had the CDW included. At the day of the car rental I had a certain plate number car assigned to me. But at the car delivery I had given different car mentioned in the Reservation. After an hour I have driven the car I had the front left and back right tyre flat. Which was obviously not my fault. There is no possibility of having the two tyres get flat at the same time. I had called the AVIS Budget Service ASAP and had the car changed. The staff didn't mention anything about the details of the process he just brought another car and we left. I have delivered the car on 18th of August. On 3rd of September I had an email of extra billing 250 EUR!!!!! for the cost of two tyres. My question is How can you charge the customer for the cost of the tyres in which CDW is included. Secondly I haven't been given the Car that has been mentioned in the Reservation Letter I think there is a faulty thing going on here.

We booked a car from Budget Rent-a-car web page two months before our travel to Latvia. Two days before our arrival to Riga, Budget Riga Airport office called us and canceled our reservation saying they didn´t have enough cars in their fleet. We were left without a car, and our family vacations were partly ruined. We had to look for other renting options, and taking into account a high season (August) we had to pay almost a double to rent a car. Our travelling plans were broken, we had to change dates for our trips to Estonia and Lithuania, and we lost two nights of hotel booked in Tallinn without any refund.
And moreover, I had to claim the money back from Budget Car Riga two times as they were not refunding my VISA for almost 10 days.
Never will trust this company again!!!!

Rented a car 26 October 2017 from Budget-Avis (The call them self: Avis - SIA IDEAL SERVICES) Riga International Airport. Was advised there was a 100 euro deposit on the Insurance, and the Insurance was 150. Paid on my Credit card. Returned the car back, took pictures all around the car, just in case the rental car company ripe you off, which I know Latvia Rental firms will try and screw you over if they can. Last week I got email from Budget, stating that they had any outstanding amount (Which was my insurance/deposit Euros 262.64 / £281.58).
I check my Credit card statement, and they have taken the money, on the 4th October. They are stating they don't have my money, think they can charge me again. At moment having Budget - London investigate is investigating them. On my invoice it written: DUMMY PPY INTERNET UK, then my name and address. So they must be running some kind of scam.....I'm looking for another car hire company, as back there at Christmas time and new year. DONT US THIS COMPANY......CROCKS !! IF I COULD PUT 0 I WOULD.

Don't try disputing a charge for damage to the car. Just live with it. You won't get your money back. If you submit a dispute (like I did) and forget to ask you credit card company to block Budget Auto, they will proceed to add an additional cost once the dispute is complete. And you won't get any receipt documenting the reason for the charge. No, this is not how most rental car companies operate.

Stay away from these crooks! They don't show up to check the car when you return it, and charge your credit card a few hundred bucks later for made up damage! When you contact customer service, they just tell you you agreed to the terms when you signed the contract! This is obviously a scam and Budget simply doesn't mind how their employees are screwing customers! Company has no moral standards or just doesn't care enough to uncover this. Stay away!

Avoid Budget at any cost in any situation - they are a bunch of scammers. We ordered a car and could not get it, because Budget said they canceld the reservation. They did not give us our money back either. This is theft.

Just rented a car from them last week, paid deposit 700 and when we check the car before taking it they noticed that it's a damage on both rims which I have it on my phone and in the email from them as proof.. when we returned the car there was none to check the car even if I was ask for one .. they were saying that the guys finish earlier.. today I've got an email from some Robert saying that they found a new damage on the car for which Must pay 550 euro.. the only problem it's that the damage it's the same as when i took it . Same wheel, some place.. now i have the "vehicle condition" paper from when i took the car where shows the damage and the leter asking for payment for the same damage....update: they took from my account 820.00 euro adding some road tax and some premium rental for which I was already charged when rented the car... ps: when you rent they charge you for full tank but you dont get a refund if you bring it full even if the option its full to full tank"

Charged for a damage which wasn't caused by me, a damage which happend UNDER the car.. of course nobody would check a rental car UNDER the car.... 180€ for a scratch under the car..... it is an embrassing behavior for a company like that.... never again....the most important for them is to charge for the "insurance", which is 45€/ day for lowering the excess from 700 to 0.... so, hands aways from that company!....
