A place to remember the Sri Lankan Robin Hood (Saradiel). It is an enjoyable, educational and humours place. Nice atmosphere to enjoy. We can having a great explanation of Saradiel's history using statues. The whole theme based on the stories of Saradiel. Tour guides are explain Saradiel's story step by step. About 6 acres of area has been used to create this 19th century traditional village. Built with cement. Statues make you feel they are really alive. Large number of local and foreign tourists visit this palce to see the legends brought back life. Saradiel was a hero to the villagers of his area. Saradiyel was distributed money that he stole from the rich among the poor and need people. Uthuwankanda is the place of his hiding place. Highly recommended you to go with kids.

It's recreate of Sri Lankan robin hood's village. They guide you and give a lot of information about old Sri Lankan culture. I highly recommend you to go with kids. They can get a lot of information. It will take about one and half hour to finish the tour. It's near by the Kandy Colombo road. So that you can go to that very easily.

A good place that depicts the village life of the past Sri Lanka. The sculptures are beautifully made. The stories are woven around the famous Saradiel who is known as the Sri Lankan Robinhood. The road leading to this theme park is well constructed so no need to worry about reaching the place. Separate parking is available.

Highly informative private theme park located near Mawanella town in kegalle district closer to Colombo - Kandy Road. Carvings here elaborates about the life story of the hero SOORA SARADIEL of Utuwankanda and also famous as ROBINHOOD OF SRI LANKA.

Born in 1832, Ceylonese gang leader and bandit SARADIEL who became a legendary figure in Sri Lanka during British rule, along with his childhood friend ‘Mammale Marikkar’ who had been his accomplice throughout, looted stuff from wealthy people and rich Britishes and distributed amount the poor people in the village. Colombo-Kandy Royal Mail coach had been one of their favourite targets.

Saradiel’ was the son of a Catholic merchant named Adissi Appu from Chilaw and a Buddhist lady named Pitchohamy. Innocent Saradiel was made a wrongdoer during his primary education by village head and sent to jail where he learn to handle weapons from the Malay police constables.

Saradiel was betrayed by a member of his own gang named Sirimala, informant of Police, managed to capture Saradiel and Mammals Marikkar. The two were found guilty after trial and sentenced to death.

They were publicly executed on 7 May 1864.

Beautifully created sculptures to depict the ancient life of Sri Lankans along with the Lankan Robinhood - Saradiel. The theme park is in just in from of the famous mountain Utuwankanda where Saradiel would stay guard. Has a resort and a restaurant and ideal for day events. Friendly staff that could guide in Sinhala and English to explain the history on each sculpture.
