The work they do is just amazing 🤩 Best to contact them via social media before your visit so they know to expect you, as they are super busy all the time. 🙏🐶😍 It’s hard to see but it’s real life here in Sri Lanka and I’m grateful that these super humans are doing their best! It is incredible the work that everyone at Sos does! We had a lovely afternoon walking some of the dogs with disabilities. The passion for the animals from all the staff is so clear, and the facilities are amazing considering the funds and resources they have.

You have to come and visit! It’s the most amazing place that looks after and feeds more than 2500 dogs every single day! Really astonishing. If you have a few days/hours to spare they greatly appreciate volunteers!

We got there today (dec 22nd 2023), paid for a 30 minute tuktuk ride but when we got there there was a sign stating they were closed for visitors.

Amazing people who care & work to help dogs and cats and give them a better life

Came to sos Sri Lanka with three strays we had seen living near our Airbnb. They vaxed them for free! For free! What great human beings! They also gave them a flea treatment and gave us follow up instructions for bathing. Over a week later and with regular feedings these puppies are on a whole new path. Thanks you SOS Sri Lanka! 😍

One of the MOST INSPIRING clinics and shelters I've ever visited and very likely the largest one you've never heard of! Did you know it's the 2nd largest shelter of its kind?! 1600+ dogs (and rising every day) and 55 cats. The work this charity does is incredible and to a very professional standard.

You can visit them (get in touch on social media first to give them a heads up) or, even better, if you're practical, proactive and fine with plenty of doggies why not consider volunteering for a few days or week?

I spent only 5 days volunteering here and wished I'd been able to stay longer. Throw yourself into it, knowing that this is the type of volunteering that is making a tangible difference to hundreds of lives. The work is rewarding and fun. See dogs being given a chance at a good life, dogs that would otherwise be left to die painfully or live lives in fear, pain and suffering.

Here, in this safe space, volunteers and staff walk between the hundreds of dogs and call out name after name effortlessly. Tails wag and heads are patted affectionately. They're the real deal.

If you don't have time to visit but you'd like to help, perhaps hit up their website and chuck them a small (or big) donation to help them help man's best friend. It'll be money very well spent.

These guys do such amazing work! With over 2800 dogs alone on the premises and Being a completely donations based organization - I am absolutely humbled by the amount of dedication, passion and love they have for helping the stray, abused, injured and unwanted animals in Sri Lanka. The work they do is mind blowing for the community and country. Any help you can give, is appreciated and I have no qualms about supporting and recommending them, it all goes back to the dogs welfare and maintenance of the property.

They really do a great job, a lot of dogs in the shelter and all of the staff and workers are working so hard to help and take care of the dogs!! We could visite and everything was explained to us. If you go to Sri Lanka, visite them and make a small donation who can change the life of one or more dogs 🤎
