New land and district registration office is no longer in the old location in Gampaha town. The new office is located on the second floor of the big brandnew building next to Gampaha police station (Miriswatta) Gampaha Kachcheriya and motor vehicle registration department.

Service is not bad, most of staff members are friendly government staff. Don't hope fast service, this is government office, most of documents and details are still under papers. That's the main reason for slow service.
If you hope quick service, please give them to proper, clear details and reasonable time.

Here you can get English translations of the birth certificates. 600 rupees per a single document. It will take 5 working days to collect the document. But if it’s urgent you can talk to a officer and can get it from 1 or 2 days. Documents needed - original birth certificate(should be taken from divisional secretariat office), filled application form(can download it from the gov web site). Friendly staff. Parking available. Quick service.
