Found this place by complete accident.
Could not have been made to feel more welcome. Superb home cooked food at a very reasonable price! If you like taking a break from the mainstream hotel menus, then this is worth a try

Cannot believe that food can taste this good! The place ia kind of hidden, but the more unique the experience is. 5 stars are not enough!

This cozy family restaurant is located in a beautiful wooded area. Very cozy environment, the hosts are kind and friendly. The food is delicious and fresh. According to our request, the host bought and cooked octopus for us. The rice with seafood is very tasty, but you have to take half the portion because it is huge. We liked also fried shrimp and fish. We wish you luck and hope to see you again!!

Very nice family owned restourant Tharuma is the grandaughter's name which was very cute. Prices are similar to other places maybe a bit cheaper comparing to kosgoda restourants, but they were so friendly and warm, that it was worth coming here. Sadly that there are not many people coming to this place because it is a bit remite. it is one of the rare places in Sri lanka that you feel welcomed and where not everything is about business. We ate calmari and deviled fish, both were very good. ♥

Excellent food and people at this place! Me and my husband went for our last dinner in Sri Lanka and we couldn’t have found a better place than Tharuma.

We ordered deviled praws and seafood vegetables, it was delicious! We really recommend the place.

It is quite hidden after the train line but easy to find following google maps + signs. Payment in cash

My friend recommanded me this restaurant because they had been here lately so we wisit Sri Lanka and I am so happy that we actually found it.Every word was true!Service was so fast and it was delicious,I had lobster and prawns,it is cooked diferently from our style but I love it,my husband had rice with little shrimps,everything was so fresh like it was caught from few minutes,we where so sad because we couldn’t stay one more day and come back plus they where all so simpatyc,thank you Kosgoda restaurant for this expirience!Sandra & Alan from Croatia

This is the best restaurant in Sri Lanka.😍 Rumesh the owner and his father. Family restaurant with a pleasant aura in the middle of the forest not far from the road. Great atmosphere, great food, portion of food is big and tasty.😍 Food prices are great! I fell in love with them!
