Good for kids to learn a bit about this art of Sri Lanka.
Also for foreigners to see a bit of Sri Lankan culture..
Got a nice guided tour and my litte one got the chance to try out the puppets as well.

That was one of the best experiences we had. Ancient traditional puppets and puppet show was there. This place had several beautiful scenes of puppets. Had a wonderful time there. We had the opportunity to see how a puppet dance is happening. This place is growing and a good place to visit around ambalangoda.

This is the only place for watching puppets in a museum. You will have the experience of Puppets, getting knowledge of history of them as well as how to operate them. Also they will arrange short puppets shows as dramas, if you want to. This place is suitable for all school students, people who are looking for arts, dramas or traditional music too. Great educational and entertainment value for a cheap prize.

As per my knowledge this is the only place where you can see and learn about Traditional puppets of Sri Lanka. This is not a very big place but it was an amazing experience and recommend for everyone who travel around Ambalangoda. They have a puppet theater where you can see puppet shows if you call and arrange with them.
This is a privately maintained museum. It is managed by a family and they are trying their best to take this traditional art to the next generation.

Our traditional Sinhala arts should be preserved. So visit such places.

This is a must visit if you are around this area. The museum is a privately maintained and no govt funding. It's managed solely by a family with history of puppet art. During the pandemic the place was mostly closed and opens only by special request. The owner was kind to open his museum specially for us. There is parking fot around 4 vehicles.

Интересный музей.
Экспонаты показывает их создатель - потомственный кукловод.
Разрешает поупражняться в управлении одной из марионеток - это очень сложно сделать в первый раз)
В соседнем здании регулярно проходят представления - настоящий кукольный театр.
Рядом с музеем расположен магазин, где можно купить классный сувенир.

පාරම්පරික රූකඩ කලාව පිළිබදව අධ්‍යයනය කල හැකි මහගු කළාගාරයකි. විශේෂත්වය නම් මෙය පුද්ගලිකව නඩත්තු වන ස්ථානයක් වීමයි. බොහෝ රූකඩ වර්ග මෙන්ම ඒවා සකස් කරන ආකාර, ඉතිහාසය මෙන්ම වර්තමාන තත්තවය පිළිබදවත් ඉතා පැහැදිලි විස්තර දක්වා ඇත. අවශ්‍ය නම් රූකඩ මිලදී ගැනීමට වුවද හැකියාව ඇත. ඇත්තටම ව්‍යාපාරික අරමුණකට වඩා අධ්‍යාපනික අරමුණකින් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන ස්ථානයකි. කලින් දැනුවත් කර යන්නේ නම් කණ්ඩායම් සදහා සජීවි රූකඩ සංදර්ශනයක් නැරඹීමේ අවස්ථාවද උදාකර ගත හැකියි.
