We have just returned from an amazing trip around Sri Lanka. I was already interested in the offer from the Sri Lanka Driver Car Rent company while planning the trip. The meeting with the coordinator Mr. Nihal Vijayananda was very friendly. He arranged Safari trips and train rides for us. The driver, Mr. Jayantha, was waiting for us at the airport, who was an excellent companion throughout the journey and took very good care of us. He also provided us with trips that we did not have in the itinerary. With this, I would like to highly recommend the company, the coordinator and the driver, and thanks to them we will have good memories of wonderful Sri Lanka

We recently visited Sri Lanka and spent 8 days there. Ranjith was our driver the whole time we were there and we had a great experience traveling with him around this beautiful country! He was always on time, an excellent driver (and photographer), and took us to see many hidden places we wouldn’t have discovered on our own.

A wonderful experience

We went to Sri Lanka in March 2022 for a 12 days trip. For us, it was the first time we discovered a country with a driver…and what an amazing experience!

The communication with the company was very smooth before and during the journey. They provided use a lot of advices and we adapted our trip accordingly.

The best part we owe it to our driver, Nihal. During all the journey, we had the opportunity to encounter the culture of this great country, discover unexpected places. We stopped in some very nice and local restaurants, and his behaviour was a real pleasure. We discussed a lot about traditions, religions and many other stuffs. He always adapted to our needs of silence or sharing.

The agency organized for us the 2 safaris, in Udawalawe and in Bundala. The selected drivers were very professional and highly skilled. It was relaxing, comfortable and we have seen a lot of wildlife, elephants, crocodiles, birds (eagles, herons, kingfishers etc…), monkeys, ground monitor, turtles (on the beach of course) and can you imagine that our guy in Udawalawe, found a small chameleon in the middle of this huge national parc (32 000 ha).

Our family have the most pleasant 5 days trip at Sri Lanka end of last December. We came across Sri Lanka Driver Car Rent through Tripadvisor. The prompt response from the Travel Coordinator Mr. Ananda with full package details was impressive. After scrutinizing the package with all the details given, I found the quotation was totally reasonable and I was pleased to accept the offer without hesitation.

We had an utmost enjoyable and hassle free 5 days trip as Sri Lanka Driver Car Rent had delivered their promise accordingly. A very clean and comfortable van in superb condition, a very professional english speaking driver cum tour guide (no restriction on driving time and hours), totally no hidden charges, no argument, we could just totally sit back and relax, enjoying our entire trip.

Had a great tour of SriLanka thanks to the cab arranged for us by Mr Mahesh Ranasinghe. The driver Rohan was also friendly. All rates and inclusions were as promised as in the initial quotation shared. And we did not have to pay any money upfront as well. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend. Just a couple of small suggestions to improve the service further:
1. It would be great to have confirmed driver details at least 3-4 days ahead of trip for international passengers. Otherwise there is always a persistent anxiety as the entire trip depends on traveling via cab in srilanka.
2. For international passengers, it would be really nice to have drivers who can understand English to some extent. Otherwise it gets very hard to communicate during the trip.

I am totally grateful that even I wanted to visit many popular tourist spots and experience the country in merely 7 days, my driver Nihal not only made it possible, but also suggested additional places to visit and with good timing. For example, we visited the Tooth Relic Temple in Kandy around 6PM, as there was a ceremony and some part of the temple was open for visitors only in the evening. Nihal knew I was interested in Buddhism, so even we had to catch the flight on the last day of our trip, he still brought me to Mihintale on our way to Anuradhapura, because of its historical importance on the introduction of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

I should mention that he had to drive many hours each day to accommodate my tight schedule, and often he might not even have enough rest at night, and had to sacrifice his time with family during new year, however he was still gentle and spirited every minute. We talked a lot in the car, and I learned so much from him about the history, culture and society in Sri Lanka, so indeed I also had an exceptional travel companion for the whole trip!

We spent only 5 days in Sri Lanka, but with Nihal as our driver we were able to experience the best parts of this beautiful country. From the moment we were met by Nihal at the airport until he brought us back we felt so very comfortable and safe with him. He is an excellent driver and he made sure that we could get the maximum out of 5 days. His English is perfect and he gave us very interesting insight into the culture of Sri Lanka. We drove many hours every day in order to reach all the wonderful places and he looked after us so well with many interesting stops in between. We have learned so much from him firsthand, he was the perfect tour guide! We will recommend Sri Lanka Driver Car Rent to our friends and make sure they get Nihal as a driver! It is nice greenish country with good people who is polite and very helpfull. We went Galle Hikkaduwa, Ella and kandy. And we had a very good time there. It is a safest country, so don't worry about that.

We found Sri Lanka Driver Car Rent through trip advisor. They had great reviews, thus we decided to go with them.
From planning to execution everything went absolutely great. Everything turned out to be as promised. We were welcome at Colombo airport and spent 9 days with our perfect driver Mr. Nihal. He is not only a humble person but also very mature and easy going. He was always kind and accomodated all our needs. We were two and thus a Nissan sedan car was allocted to us. The car was clean and in very good condition. Since our hotels did not provide accomodation for our driver we paid an additional 8$ per day for this. Overall, this company is a great one to get your trip organized in Sri Lanka. Do not hesitate to hire their services.

Highly recommend this travel company if you want to discover Sri Lanka. Everything was perfectly organized . I received an email with links to videos as inspiration of what to go and see. I could then choose the activities/sightseeing locations according to my preferences and they would together a tailor-made iterinary just for me. Visited Sri Lanka for 6 days and I was able to see so many things: Sigiriya Rock, Horton Plains, Yala Nationalpark, Little Adams Peak, Nine Arches Bridge, Ramboda Falls etc. I went hiking, snorkling with sea turtles, diving, and elephant riding. Visited a wood carving factory, the stilt fishing, and a sea turtle hatchery. Tipp: don't do the train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella unless you want to stand almost 3 hours squished. The train is full of tourists... :-(.

My driver Nihal was very friendly and helpful. He was also flexibel whenever I wanted to go and see something which was not in the initial travel plans. He organized many activities spontaneously by calling them the day before. Even as a solo traveler I always felt safe. We spent a total of 18 nights traveling as a couple with Sri Lanka Driver Car Rent in December/January 2022/2023 and it was great!

The communication, advice and knowledge from Ananda during the planning of our trip was excellent and he was always super helpful in suggesting timelines, possible routes and other must see places for the areas that we wanted to visit. The price we agreed was the price we paid and we did not have to pay anything at all until at least 1 week into our trip. We paid half of the money at that point and then half at the end of the trip, so I would say they can totally be trusted!

Our driver Ranjith was excellent! His driving was always very safe and reassuring and he was a super kind, courteous and friendly person. He also guided us around many walks and attractions along the way and was always on hand to take photos of us! His English language was fair and he was always keen to improve and learn more. He was always smiling, was intelligent and had an excellent knowledge of his country and we always felt that he took great care of both us and our possessions.

The car was modern, reliable, always clean and comfortable and the AC set to whatever temperature we needed/wanted!

Sri Lanka is a truly beautiful country in every way. The amazing varied landscapes, the super friendly people, the great food and hospitality are all not to be missed and we will definitely return to explore more in the future. Sri Lanka Driver Car Rent was one of the most significant highlight of our Sri Lanka Trip. We were visiting during the new year when the tourist season was at its peak and most of the car operators were either fully booked or quoting exorbitant prices. In this scenario, not only did the tour company arranged a wonderful bus but also provided reasonable rates. The communication and support from the company is really impressive.

When we reached Colombo, our vehicle was well on time with a super friendly driver and our partner for the tour--Mr Buddhika. Both of them were really cheerful, helpful and professional. They were happy to accommodate all our requests--whether to stop for a sip of coconut water or to take detailed pics of an elephant spotted in a jungle. We had the best 10 days with them. The vehicle was immaculately cleaned everyday.
