If you love the scenery of the park you must definitely go to Seoraksan National Park South Korea. We went there during summer time, so the weather was not that cold. This place has a giant Buddha statue, and you can also use the cable car to part of the mountain, there you can find so many beautiful spots. This place was also famous for hiking, maybe someday i will also hike there.

As a being from the tropics stepping into Mount Seoraksan's winter embrace, I was met with a wonderland exceeding all expectations. Imagine: snow-draped peaks pierce the sky, frosted pines sparkle under the sun, and frozen waterfalls create dramatic ice sculptures. The crisp air invigorates, and the peaceful hush, broken only by the crunch of snow, is truly magical.
The cable car soars you above this wintry spectacle, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Hiking trails weave through the snow-laden landscape, inviting exploration amidst the cool beauty. Whether you seek quiet contemplation or invigorating snowshoeing, Mount Seoraksan fulfills your winter wonderland dreamscape.

Beautiful place to visit in winter, if you’re in south korea, it is a must visit.
During winter the mountains are filled with snow and the temperatures are okay.
It’s easy to go by bus from sokcho’s center and any ages can go.

If you love hiking or walking, this is a good place. There are several different trials you can pick from depending on your stamina and how much you want to challenge yourself.

The views are beautiful and there’s a lot of food available in the park so don’t worry about being hungry.

Must visit when traveling to S Korea.

The following trails offer heavenly views:

1. Cheonbuldong Valley
2. Dinosaur Ridge (warning: quite the challenging hike if done in one day)

Absolutely beautiful park. Really good to go during late October for the fall colors. There are several hikes around that range from easy to strenuous. At the bottom of the mountain, there are several cafes where you can get lunch and drinks.

I started climbing at 3 am.because we wanted to hike in the mountains in 1 day. For going er have taken the oseak trail which is shortest but hardest. If you climb in the morning you must take a head lamp and wear hiking shoes. It was very dangerous but a beautiful lifetime experience. We saw the sunrise which was worth it. The top temperature was in minus. So I must take warm clothes.especially hand gloves. It was fridging the temperature on the top. We even visited in early October. Autumn looks beautiful. It feels like you are in heaven. So beautiful. Must try once.

Awesome place with kids. Visited in December, snow everywhere , Normal snow/trek shoe to avoid slippage , good food (multiple choices), nice coffee options in the base, vegan options in many places, taxis are available to/from (about 19K Won - city). Total to top of mountain trek is about 10 hours - probably not with kids in winter. We did Cable car (comfy and affordable), and mid-way walks to temples. Warm restrooms .

Very nice park to walk, cable car to mountain pick is very fast and short, 5min with so so view, croweded. Should walk along trail to visit temples and along stream, lake. Peak is not so wow view, and very windy. Ice cream is fantastic to try! Temples and budda are amazing, worth to explore!

Wow! What an incredibly beautiful and special National Park. The mountains and views of the mountains and Buddhist temples are unlike anything I’ve ever seen. We went in September and the weather was incredible. Fall is apparently the best (but busiest) time to go as the leaves are changing and falling. We really enjoyed our time! We parked in the closest parking lot and did the Ulsanbawai rock trail hike as well as the Bisondae rocks hike. Ulsanbawi was very tough but the view at the top is incredible. The hike is 4.5 miles round trip with about a 1,450 Ft elevation gain. Bring water and expect it to be hard! Bisondae rocks hike wasn’t as steep of a climb and is actually paved for the beginning part. These rocks were so beautiful. We also took the cable car and it was the most Incredible view at the top once you did the small hike to peak- which was semi terrifying! This is do-able with kids but expect to watch them the entire time as there are no rails at the top. My biggest piece of advice for the entire park is GO EARLY! We were there every day at 7:30 am and we’re able to easily park close by (parking was 6,000 KRW). On our way out of the park every day around 12:30 or 1:00 pm the line to park was miles long. People had to wait for hours just to get in. Also, go early for the cable car as it will sell out and it closed at 5:30 pm. We really enjoyed eating some bipimbap at the bottom after our hike too. So good! This park is an ABSOLUTE MUST! You don’t want to miss it!

Beautiful national park with several walking paths, a cable car, and Buddhist temples and statues. We walked to Ulsanbawi peak (there are a lot of stairs), it was stunning even though we were in the clouds.

We will be back to Mt. Seorak. This place was absolutely beautiful. There was something for everyone; sightseeing, hiking, eating and shopping. We spent the whole day hiking trails and enjoying the outdoors. We did take the gondola ride to the top as well for some beautiful views of the surrounding area. I would recommend doing that first as the lines will only get longer as the time gets later. The views at Seoraksan left me speechless, so I will let the pictures do the talking!

Enjoy!

I suggest coming early in the morning, there won't be as many people as in the afternoon and it's just as pleasant. The view is wonderful and the path to the top absolutely lovely.
