Café Ironai Shokudo

Great atmosphere and great relaxing music. The food was prepared by an old couple and a young lady. Through had to wait for 30 mins, the desserts were impeccable and simply delicious! Great break from the cold and into some warmth.

It is an old style cafe in a historic building. They serve tea, coffee and deserts. If you take your time you can enjoy the atmosphere and the over the top audio system playing classic music.

Great place to have slow and good coffee with desserts. If you do not have time, don't come but if you have time to spare, great pit stop to relax, chill and drink coffee.

Good quality food but need to wait a while as the place is only served by a elderly couple. Good price here also! Ambience is unique and one of the kind; you will love it.

Really relaxed vibes, just walked in and asked for seats. There was only one person working, but he was super kind and made us some really great coffee and tea. We also had a few snacks to go along with it. Escape the chill and cozy up here in the retro ambience.

Beautiful oldschool Otaru café with over 100 years of history. Enjoy the beautiful European styled space as you listen to a soundtrack of classical music. The food and meals here are very, very reasonably priced. Come here at breakfast time, order a cup of coffee and you can make it a meal with toast, scrambled eggs and sausage for just 100 yen more. I'd also recommend trying the milk, which apparently comes from happy cows and is absolutely delicious!

Very very underrated and underpriced place for how high quality everything is!!!

Matcha latte is the BEST I’ve ever had in my life
So much better than Starbucks or Sarutahiko or just anywhere else..!!! The balance between matcha and milk is just pure harmony..the milk and cream must have been from Hokkaido to have such pungency yet subtly sweet flavor

The coffee is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING too
So smooth and rich with a sweet aftertaste
There’s a rustic, traditional taste to it too

For how amazing their drinks and foods are, I definitely think they can charge more but they’re all so cheap!!

Lovely place run by elderly couple. Coffee and breakfast is great. Don’t be expecting fast food. All slow and relaxing here. Also expect to see some vintage espresso machines. One of the best finds.

An antique cafe on the second floor with very chill vibes, and a sweet old grandpa serving us. Loved the hot cocoa and Otaru ice cream. The desserts were unforgettable, made me feel like my grandparents made them for me :’) Extremely affordable too!

We picked this place because we wanted to see a cozy place for breakfast. The Cafe was run by a gentleman who took order, prepared food, and served the dishes.

We had the wiener sausage dish with an Americano coffee. It was really great.

You can also order only coffee or any drink and pay an extra 100yen for a small breakfast set of egg and sausage.

Highly recommended!!!!

Beautiful quaint place ran by an old couple that serves breakfast at just ¥100! (No drinks included and I read somewhere you need to buy a drink) Only 1 choice of breakfast but it is good and substantial! Toast with butter and homemade peanut butter, potato salad, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and cheese. Highly recommenced!

42 mins waiting is a worth! Come before 10.30am to enjoy the bread set with a drinks only ¥500+.

Serving excellent breakfast set and coffee latte just round the corner of Hotel Nord Otaru. Excellent traditional atomsphere. Worth to go have breakfast at Otaru. However, matcha latte was too sweet.

I love its perfect mood.
What you have to know is brunch set is provided until 11am.
Also, the location in google map is wrong. You have to go one more block from the station.

Great pick. Served more prettily than in LeTao, very classy classical music. Cakeset for 590¥ is great (very delicious), friendly owners.
A friend ordered the hamburg steak - it came with fries and may or may not be the juiciest hamburg steak that I will eat in my whole life ;) Fries were also absolutely great and not overpriced.

Beautiful old wooden building with European rustic ambience. Breakfast set is 500+ yen. Totally worth it and super delicious. What a way to start the day at Otaru. Highly recommended!!!

The wagyu lunch set is only ¥990 and very delicious. For breakfast, you can get a toast set for only ¥100 if you order a cup of coffee. The restaurant is run by an old couple and classical atmosphere is everywhere.

One of the best breakfast experiences i ever had. Although i need to wait over 30mins for breakfast (cause there are only 2 staff serving breakfast), meanwhile i enjoyed a lot the symphony played by the giant hi-fi. The breakfast was delicious and coffee tasted perfect with only ¥600 per person.
But if you in a rush, this cafe is not the perfect choice for quick bite

The cafe is on the second floor of an old building, and once you step inside it really feels like you’ve been transported back in time 100 years.

The two owners are elderly, and take their time. It took 20 minutes for them to take our order, and another 30 for the drinks to come out. We didn’t mind - the music and atmosphere was really relaxing. It’s a slow and restful experience, not a place for those who are trying to get a coffee and go.

The drinks and dango were a perfect end to our day! Would definitely come again.
