They are extremely generous with their food. The pasta that was eggplant and tomato, the salad was great and the shrimp! And we got a pizza which was great too! And the fish avocado burger was great too! Highly recommend this place and the vibe is super chill! The women waiter was very nice too!

Great food and drinks in a “Hawaiian vibe”.

The clam chowder, the fish (thai-ish style) salad, the seafood curry were excellent and portions were BIG.
The hamburg with rice was good but not that special.

Can order mojito with less sugar so just perfect.
Definitely recommend!!! (Extra point for the cute dog)

Good food, fast service, and everyone was so friendly. We had a large group (10 with 3 babies) and they were able to accommodate. The salad was very good, I should of got a second!

Definitely top 3 cafes in Japan for food quality.
I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. This was a hidden gem but is becoming more well known so be warned, it fills early, it closes early and they can sell out.

Although we reached 11:30am, but need to wait for 20mins because already people secure places,

Sitting capacity is little less, but food was amazing,
Quantity is more than average Japanese meal,

Drinks are at par, what a taste, we drove 200kms just to have lunch here.

This food was beyond delicious!!! Staff spoke wonderful English, and were welcoming and kind. We grabbed takeout and it was prepared quickly. Lots of food, and extremely tasty!

This place is amazing! A five star experience for sure! I ordered the French toast and an avocado smoothie and I about died and went to heaven! I also tried my friends beet smoothie and it was so good!!! And super reasonably priced! Usually when traveling to another country, I try to stick to their cuisine however there didn’t happen to be a lot of places open at the time of year we went so we decided we would try south cafe! I’m so happy we did! It has such a cute atmosphere and the food is a 10/10! I highly recommend if you are staying or even just passing through Shimoda!

Randomly dropped into this cafe and didn't expect their food to be sooo good. If only we had bigger stomachs we would have ordered everything in the menu to try out. We ordered their ceviche, corn soup, fish & chips, rice gratin and brownie with ice-cream for dessert. They also have free parking lots available which is quite rare for many restaurants here.

Clean, family friendly and huge portions. We tried the pizza, calamari, fish burger, banana brownies sundae, strawberry tart, and more. Big menu with something for everyone and reasonable prices.

We stopped off for a coffee on the way down the coast. Lovely staff, amazing coffee and yummy food. I would highly recommend it. The Banana Cafe is something unique and nice to try.

Cute place! Hard to find espresso coffee nearby so this was an oasis. Just saw them bring out a tray of brownies and omg I am coming back tomorrow for sure

So much to choose from off the menu. Everything was fresh and amazing. The kids burger was very mini. Like a meatball on a bun. But the kids chicken was too much for my other two kids. We would definitely come back though! The fried fish avocado burger was very good!

Perfect cafe for the vibe and atmosphere of Shimoda. Food was very good. We got the pizza, pasta and the apple pie.

Phenomenal. The food, prices, atmosphere, and customer service were all top notch. Try their cappuccino. This has become a favorite among our friends and we understand the hype. Truly a treasure in Shimoda.

I highly recommend this place! The food was incredible with large portions. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we didn't have to wait long for our did to be cooked. I had the chili burger, my wife had the enchilada, and we're shared the chicken wings. All three were the best of that dish that we've had in Japan yet, and we've lived here for 2 years now. And for all foreigners, the menu is in English too.

Absolutely the best cafe in the shirahama/shimoda area. Great portion sizes for the price- something not found often in 日本.
Fresh ingredients and friendly relaxing atmosphere. Been here three different times at different times of day, with different staff but the same result: DELICIOUS.
