Nice place if you want to get further information regarding kumano kodo hiking. This place provides any information from hotel, route that you want to get to hikes, and they have some souvenirs and merchandise originally from kumano kodo. The place is near from tanabe station just 5 minutes by walk. Every staff is helpful and very nice to welcoming a people.

They have a stamp of you want to collect all the stamps from the beginning hiking until the end of your hiking.

Great service company. Not only did they help me before my travel to the Kumano Kodo. But when the weather turned bad they were able to find lodging for me at the last minute. Then they were very helpful with all the information needed to continue my hike. Not only travel and lodging but they also helped me with shipping items that I had purchased while
In Japan. All around fantastic service company. If I could give more then 5 star I would.

We booked our accomodation for our trip on the Kumano Kodo through this agency. The experience on this path was one of our favorite moments of our trip to Japan and Kumano Travel was a great help for arranging it. Accomodations on the path were just lovely and food provided by the local hosts was delicious.

Our first experience with Kumano Travel was in 2019 as they guided us through booking our walk that was to occur in 2020. Unfortunately Covid hit the world and without any problem, Kumano Travel refunded our money.
Once again we have booked through Kumano Travel to walk this year in May, with much assistance from Mako.
We have had many queries and Mako has never failed to answer our questions or help us to overcome any difficulties.
At this late date 8 weeks to go, we have had to change our reservation numbers and once again we have not been disappointed with the response.
A lot of companies could learn customer service from Kumano Travel.

Just returned from an amazing experience on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Hike. Mike Rhodes from Kumano Travel was a wealth of cultural, historical, and practical knowledge. His enthusiasm, local connections, and flexibility enriched our trip beyond my expectations. Our ryokan stays were wonderfully authentic and very comfortable. The variety, quantity, and quality of food was an unexpected treat. Our hosts went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure all our needs were met. When the typhoon moved in our direction, Mike quickly mapped out safer options for our hikes each day. We could never have done this trip without him!

Our 5 day trip on the Kumano Kodo was an experience beyond our greatest expectations and is a memory we will never forget!

Your guidance and options for the tour were invaluable and so well thought out that it made everything very easy as we planned this trip. The following are a few things we thought you might like as positive feedback from our experience:
• The voucher and reservation sheet you sent prior to the trip was excellent. It provided us with all the logistical information we needed.

• Every accommodation we stayed at the service was AMAZING, WELCOMING and FRIENDLY  The meals were DELICIOUS with plentiful courses too!! We really enjoyed meeting and talking to the people at each establishment and considered it to be an important part of the experience. We loved the traditional appearance and bedding at each accommodation and while there was a heatwave outside, the air conditioning was excellent!  It was the perfect way to experience the wonder and beauty of Japanese culture after an equally tremendous day of serenity on the paths of the Kumano Kodo.

• The luggage service was seamless and we were thrilled to get a Kumano Kodo luggage tags. I still have the small one with a bell on by purse as a constant reminder of our trip.

• The absolute best and most special part of our trip were our guides for all the different parts of our hike. Four days with Yoshiho Wada, one day with Jennifer Fujino at the temples in Nachi and two hours on the riverboat with another guide who played a BEAUTIFUL flute song for us! Yoshi was so incredible with his great spirit for sharing the beauty of the Komano Kodo. He also quickly identified our physical limitations and worked to incorporate them seamlessly into the daily hikes taking breaks as needed. He was always friendly and personable and provided us with interesting information and background about the Kumano Kodo, Japanese history and culture. Most importantly he kept us going, as we struggled with the heat wave he kept us moving and on schedule. He even called Jennifer Fujino, our guide for the last day, to let her know how she could best meet our needs. She did a wonderful job translating for us and helping my husband get the perfect walking stick with his name written on it in Japanese. We would highly recommend anyone who does the trip to hire your guides 
We will highly recommend your agency and appreciate the attention to detail and level of expertise and professionalism shown by everyone associated with the agency. You’ve given us memories we will never forget and will hold very dear to our hearts for the rest of our lives!
