Saigyo Modoshi no Matsu Park

Beautiful, peaceful and serene are the three best words I can use to describe this area. Having suffered from the tsunami in 2011, they bounced back quickly and the area remains gorgeous.

Breathtaking view and a tiny piece of history. Saigyo, a famous japanese poet from the 12th century, visited this place and a pine tree marks this event. Popular place for both cherry blossom and autumn foliage :)

The best place to view matsushima from a bit above the hill. Visited on autumn but should be good for all seasons. There is a cafe and some benches outside the cafe

Must be one of the best views of a bay like this anywhere. The cherry blossoms weren’t yet in full bloom when we went (seems to lag a few days behind Sendai), but it’s easy to see how perfect a setting it would be for them there. We had a nice picnic in the park which we had picked up from Sendai station.

Lovely scenic spot for a higher up than view of the town, and particularly the red bridge. There are two car parks; the first one, coming from up the hill, is bigger and has the public bathrooms, and the second one is further along the road on the left (not the one that goes up). It leads to the cafe, Le Roman, which has beautiful views from the large glass windows and balcony. There's a smaller footpath that takes you up a hill with a statue and bell.

It is a good place to view those Matsushima islands at a far distance, including the well-known red Bridge. Pine trees at this location are just gorgeous, some of which must be more 120 years old, being planted during the Meiji Era.

It would be nice if you could visit this place during sakura season. You could have a nice view of matsushima bay accompanied by the beauty of cherry blossom! Need a little effort to come over the hill, but it's worth. 😊😊😊😊😊

Great view but please please please do not walk up there from the station. Perfect spot if you have a car.

On a blue sky day, during cherry blossom with Matsushita Bay sparkling beneath you one wishes never to leave this spot. For me and just for me one of the most beautiful scenic locations together with Amanohashidate and the area around Cap Irozaki in Izu.

It's a very nice place to walk and have fresh air.
