Unbelievable experience. If your in the Kyoto/Osaka area or just in Japan at all you need to come and stay here. Shingo is a legend he took us up to the local temple to experience morning prayer which is a must! We will definitely be back

Don't miss the chance to stay in this magical place! I stay at hostels all the time to keep my travel affordable and this place was above and beyond what hostels typically provide - clean and private rooms, comfy beds, delicious home-cooked meals, incredible ambiance. It is owned by the sweetest and most welcoming couple who put so much thought into every detail of the place, making it truly feel like a home. They have done a ton of traveling of their own and the hostel is beautifully ornamented with items they've collected on their adventures. Whether you're visiting for the temple or headed to see the deer in Nara, I couldn't recommend this place enough. Nara can be so crowded so this is the perfect peaceful getaway – close to the action but distant enough to get amazing sleep and rest. It's also just a 10min walk to the temple!

The guesthouse Ittan is super clean and comfortable, very centrally located, only 10 minutes walking from famous Hasedera Temple. Hasedera town is a quiet nostalgic little town, away from all the city hustle!

I stayed at Guesthouse Ittan three nights as it is just 15 minutes walk from the main temple : Hasedera, and it's easy to go to morning worship from there. It was possible to go back to the guesthouse for breakfast and then either return to Hasedera, or explore the other excellent temples and shrines in the area, some just a few train-stops away on the local line. The hosts will also prepare other meals, but they have to be notified a little in advance. It's also possible to make simple meals for oneself in the kitchen.

The hosts were especially kind and helpful to me. They helped me with some heavy items I needed to ship; they really went out of their way. It was SO helpful.

Also great is the Chiang Rai coffee that they make (and sell). I enjoyed coffee and toast every day whilst chatting to the hosts about their fascinating travels in India.

The rooms, showers, bathrooms are comfortable and the whole place is sparkling clean. I mean REALLY REALLY clean. Possibly the cleanest guesthouse in all of Japan. Seriously.

There's a very comfortable common room where guests can relax and read. There are a lot of books, especially on the Shingon Sect of Japanese Buddhism. The hosts are extremely well-informed when it comes to Buddhism, as they are serious practitioners and therefore a reliable source of detailed information. I should also mention that they speak excellent English. Another GREAT plus.

ひとり旅で利用しました。
思い立っての旅だったので当日予約でしたが、快く受けて下さりとても助かりました。
部屋や共有スペースはとても綺麗で、どこかおばあちゃん家みたいな安心感もあり過ごしやすかったです。
長谷寺の朝勤行は同行して頂ける上に勤行の流れや長谷寺の歴史等沢山教えてもらえるので初心者でも安心です。また、2日目の予定を特に考えていなかったのですが、おすすめの神社仏閣を聞くと1日のスケジュールをささっとメモに書いて提案して下さったのには驚きでした。おかげさまでチェックアウト後も楽しく過ごせて、奈良を満喫出来ました。
周辺にスーパーやコンビニがないのが少し不便でしたが、美味しいうどん屋さんを教えて頂き、ご飯にも困りませんでした。
朝のチェンライコーヒーはとても飲みやすくて初めてブラックで1杯飲み干してしまい…思わずお土産にも1つ購入しました。
素敵なお宿に出会えて奈良がもっと好きになりました。今後も長谷寺参拝、朝勤行の際にはお世話になりたいと思います。

長谷寺の牡丹を見るために職場スタッフと利用しました。もう、素晴らしいの一言です。オーナーご夫婦の人柄も素晴らしかったです。６名で貸し切りさせていただきました。飲み物、食べ物全て持ち込みし、一階のリビング、ダイニングで酒盛りしました。食器類も一通り揃っており、炊飯器もオーブントースターも電子レンジもありました。何だったらホットプレートもあり、焼き肉なんかもできそうです。ホントに何でも自炊出来ます。お風呂は綺麗なシャワー室が2つあります。トイレも綺麗なウオッシュレットが2つありました。寝室は２階で部屋が3つありました。階段はちょっとだけ急ですが手すりがついてます。間取りは普通の自宅みたいで襖で仕切られているだけです。気のおけない仲間と来るのがベストじゃないでしょうか。１０人位は余裕で泊まれそうでした。チェックアウトの時間を勘違いしてしまって１０時過ぎてしまいましたが凄く優しく送り出していただきました。駐車場は２台分スペースあり、チェックアウトしてから長谷寺にお参りする時間も無料で停めさせてもらえて凄く有り難かったです。これで１人5000円はお得過ぎます！また四季折々で利用させてもらいたいです。ありがとうございました。
