The indoor changing room has a anti slip rubber mat that is painful to walk on barefooted.

The indoor changing room's anti-slip rubber mat, though effective, can be a bit uncomfortable barefooted.

Visiting on a weekday was a win – almost empty pools made it especially enjoyable for the kids.

The hot pool added warmth as the night got colder. The outdoor onsen, with its great view, was an additional highlight.

Very relaxing. The onsen up the stairs was nice and warm. The massage chair near the change rooms is a MUST… I’d go there just for that!

Fantastic option for families in the summer. Ample parking, not crowded at all during the weekdays, and the 25° outdoor pool is a respite from the summer heat. When you enter the building, take your shoes off and put them in a locker. Bring your shoe locker key to the front desk when you pay and they will keep it for you. Adults (junior high school and above ¥700, children ¥500). They will then hand you a locker key. Lost locker keys will be charged ¥3000. Bathing suit rentals are ¥300 with a ¥1000 deposit that is returned when the bathing suit is returned. The changing room has bathing facilities with soaps, showers to wash off after the pool, and even a free swimsuit drier which works much like a salad spinner except for bathing suits. There is a restaurant connected to the pool area -- just need to dry off before heading in to eat. A nice option for those that want to stay the whole day. Unusual for Japan: no swim cap needed, diapered children can swim as long as they use a waterproof cover, and we even saw a young shirtless with several large tattoos, so maybe a tattoo-friendly facility?!? Cafeteria takes only cash or Paypay. Summer hours (8/1-8/27) are 9:00-20:30.

Great onsen if you’re shy to get naked. Swimsuit allowed in 2 of the baths. Good food in the cafeteria.

Outdoor pool watching the snow was a refreshing temperature! Fun to hang with your entire group despite gender in swimsuits. Cafeteria looked good but we went at an off time. Entry was 700 jpy per person - so reasonable!

Great onsen that the whole family can enjoy! They have two baths outside at different temperatures and one inside. The food from the restaurant was surprisingly quite delicious. Everything we ordered from the pizza, ramen, steak on rice, to the wings were very tasty.

Great place for a clothed communal bath. It's essentially a swimming pool, but open air.

Onsen is available too - and amenities.

The food at the restaurant is amazing. Pizza and ramen and really any dish.

5/5 would recommend!

SPArena offers a family friendly clothed onsen. There are gendered change and shower rooms that open into a 36 degree sheltered but open air onsen. There is additionally a ~42 degree smaller onsen upstairs.

SPArena offers towel and even swimwear hire for a reasonable price. There are also dining and lounge areas.

There is restaurant inside, with quite good options and it usually empty. Go get here to take shower and relax in hot bath than have lunch or dinner. Make sure to order food before last order at 19:30

Incredible onsen for a nominal price. Great restaurant, very spacious indoors. Beautiful sight from the open air onsen. Very friendly staff. A friend lost a phone here, they recovered it and contacted me immediately.

Great onsen to visit if you have kids. We let the kids hang out in the big family onsen while we went upstairs to the hot spring onsen. Very cheap and easy walk from anywhere in town. Don’t forget a bathing suit and towels.

Great place after a long day on the slopes. Use your lift ticket for a discount on entry. Dinner is fairly reasonable and an easy option when you can't get into other restaurants in town. Massage chairs are also great after a hard day.

Loved the onsen and pool that you could wear your swimwear in. Everything clean and super efficient. Need to rent towels also.

Spotlessly clean and professionally staffed facility. The indoor onsen (hot bath) is perfect for those who can't handle the heat of the public onsens. The relaxation rooms have to be seen to be believed. Set aside an hour or two to cleanse and relax.

We visited outside of the Japanese travel peak and had lots of space for ourselves. Overall a great time for the kids.

The poolside seating was quite limited (only 4 seats with shade). The pools were in great condition and the food is surprisingly good.

A great way to relax after a day on the snow. The upstairs hottest open bath is amazing ona. Cold night.

Great for shy tourists who can handle seeing strangers in the nude. Also, the water temps are much more bareable, and still relaxing.
