Best onsen experience in Nozawaonsen, a good balance between traditional style and comfort. The town’s alternative free onsens are tiny, very basic and extremely hot, whereas Furusato-no-tú has more space, better facilities like proper showers with soap and shampoo provided, and 3 larger baths each for men and women (all segregated), including a less hot outdoor one which was my favourite. For all that, the entry fee is a bargain. Note that they are closed on Thursdays.

Great oasis in Nozawa. If you want to get a wash and relax a bit more after traversing the free onsen, this is the place to go. Soap and showers are provided and there is a great indoor and open air bath to relax in. You can get a discount ticket from your accommodation too, makes it only ¥400

Great spa with hot, cold and outdoor spa where you can look at the koi fish swimming. Very clean and was very quiet when I was there but it was off season. Highly recommend

Fabulous. There are many communal free onsens in Nozawa but are often far too hot and small. While there is am entrance fee of Y500 $aud5) it's worth it. It's stunning from the outside and offers a large indoor onsen (41 to 42 degrees) and a slightly smaller one outside which is a bit cooler but still warm.
There is shampoo, body wash and small stools to stop on while washing yourself. Hair-dryers and a sitting area also provided as are lockers.
Highly recommended.
Be sure to check out the incredible hot springs arising from the ground nearby (near the Ivy bar)
Very friendly staff

We went at around 3pm and it was not too busy although people quickly started filling up the changing room afterwards. A wonderful Onsen with good facilities and outdoor bath section if you want something a little nicer than the free bathhouses around town.

Came here each evening for a bath. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Cost is 500¥ for adults and 300¥ for children. Lockers are available to store your valuables. There are 3 baths with one being outdoors. All 3 have varying temperatures. The shower facilities have soap and shampoo available. Do bring your own towel since this is not supplied. From my experience it can get crowded around 1630-1700 during the ski season.

I came here twice during my long weekend in Nozawa and at just 500 yen for admission it’s a great deal. Unlike the free public onsen in Nozawa which are scalding hot, the waters here are a more normal onsen temperature. There are shower stalls with soap and shampoo provided and hairdryers in the changing room. Bring your own towel or you can rent one from the front desk. One of my visits I was lucky to be the only one in the onsen too but it quickly started filling up as it got close to 3 pm and people started coming off the slopes. Try to visit in the mid morning to early afternoon and it might be less busy than late afternoon.

Beautiful onsen! This is a paid bathhouse (500 yen) but it’s well worth it, especially if communal bathing is new to you. The ladies area has hair dryers, lockers, shampoo/conditioner and 3 different baths. 2 inside at different temps and 1 outside in open air. Definitely give this a try if you’re in town, helps those snow boarding injuries!

Last enter is at 7:30pm. A nice onsen place for ¥500. Comes with nice plenty of hair driers and medium size changing room. The shower space come with shampoo and body soap. You can pay for the towels if necessary.

There are 3 onsen place inside. “Hot” around 43~45c, “Warm” around 40~42c, and the outdoor one will be cooler according to outside temperature.

Recommend!

A hot hot spring that feels like a sauna. I no longer feel tired.

Only 500 yen for a well-equipped facility with a nice mineral-filled (成分) bath outside which had different water than that which fills the free hot springs around Nozawa. Highly recommend stopping by!

Towels are not provided, but a fairly large one can be purchased for an additional 500 yen.

Maybe one of the few (or only one?) onsens in the area with an outdoor bath. Two baths inside ぬるめ (41-43 C) and hot, and the outdoor bath smelled of sulfur (硫黄) which a lot of people like. Shampoo and soap is available by each shower. The facility can accommodate 28 females and 28 males per hour. The dressing room has shelves that indicate whether or not a spot has been sanitized or used by another person. Parking is available on site.

Really nice onsen. You can rent or buy towels. They have shampoo and body wash for you to use. Most other onsens in the area expect you to wash yourself and get your towels elsewhere (typically where you’re staying overnight) and take a bath at the onsen.

Furusato no yu was fully equipped!

Spacious and sophisticated public bath. They have two bathtubs inside (separated by water temperature) and one outside. I prefer bathing in the one outside enjoying a view of snow. Additionally there are showers with a shampoo and body soap, which don't exist at many other traditional public baths in this town. They also have enough space in a entrance hall and a dressing room (these types of space in ordinary traditional public baths tend to be tiny, which can cause congestion of people). The entrance fee is 500 yen for adults, which seems reasonable.

Legit clean shared bath with various different water temps and an outdoor bath. Not nearly as hot as the more traditional onsens in the area. My only wish is that the outdoor bath was as hot as the hotter indoor bath.

Really nice, spacious onsen. Entry is $4 plus towel $4. Two indoor baths, one at 45°C, then an outdoor bath around 40°C. Beautiful when the snow falls on you outside but you're in a steaming hot bath.

Unlike the other public onsens in town, this costs ¥500 to enter, but it is a step above the others in terms of amenities. So if you're an onsen novice, this is a good place to start. There are nice areas to wash with soap provided and an outdoor bath with reasonable water temperatures. (Some of the other onsen in town are extremely hot!) You can bring your own towel or buy one for a small fee.
