Igeinogajimaru Gajimaru Park

This park is easily accessed off of HWY 329 in Kin Town. It is a public park with a special tree (banyan) called a Gajimaru locally. The tree is huge and is estimated to be 300 years old. The park is small but, has toilets and vending machines for refreshments nearby. The sprawling branches make this tree one that would be tempting to climb. The tree has an interesting history of local spirits being distributed by a priestess. The riutals may no longer be conducted but, I will return and find out for you!

樹齢300年のガジュマルは圧巻です。公園内には遊具が少しあります。地域の憩いの場であり、アサギもある祈りの場なのでキレイに使いましょう。根を傷付けないように、靴などが宜しいかなと思います。

なんとなく曲がっていった道にガジュマルの大木が立っていました。大感激でした。木の下を歩くと無数の鳥の囀りが聞こえ全身が震えました。高樹齢の木には何度も接したことありますがこんなことはじめてです。

樹齢300年で金武町の文化財に指定されております。

草がボーボーなので虫取りにもgoodですが、蚊に噛まれます💦

集落の中にある小さな公園ですが、とても立派ながじゅまるがあり、地域の暮らしを見守っているかのようです。2月には近くの畑でコスモスが咲きそれに合わせて祭りも行われます。
