Lots of parking and facilities and some really nice neutered cats greeted us (they had clipped ears) as it was around their feeding time. The white cat had lots of faeces around its tail and its tail looked a little limp, I hope someone can take care of it, I tried to wipe off but the cat kept squirming away (I help to trap, neuter and return in Australia).

Lookout was a lot of fun and the views were terrific. Would highly recommend. Also nice friendly cats.

I visited it on my way back to Miyazaki after Takachiho Gorge. The spectacular view of the sea from above was very beautiful. Personally, I was more impressed by it than by Takachiho Gorge, which I visited on the same day.
The walkway leading to the lighthouse was also beautiful.
Definitely worth a visit.

A stunning place, I would highly recommend a visit. One of the must visit places around! This said, if you have a fear of heights be ready for a thrill ride.

Really beautiful water and natural area! I brought a bento lunch and ate it down by the sea. Parking can be crowded, but it was golden week when I went. All considered, not bad. And worth it! If you want to avoid crowds go in the morning. Also, it was free. 🥰

Easy hike to this outlook which is rewarded by an amazing view. Come here earlier in the day will give you the best chance for good photos. Stay away from the bottom #3 parking lot if you want to avoid the stairs.

Nice stop. A short walk from the car park (on the way up to the gorgeous there were many mosquitos so make sure you get some repellent). Beautiful views. During busy times the car park could get full quickly.

One of the most beautiful places in Hyuga. You could see the cliff and up the columnar rocks with sitting benches in the middle

Short, easy walk to the view. The end of the path is a bit steep with no stairs, so not quite accessible for the older people, but they can still see the main rock cliffs as well as the ocean view. Really beautiful spot.

A big win! Lovely path. Not crowded. Bring tuna-a little orange kitten is waiting to be your friend.

An amazing view. It is a path you can walk from the street that google maps somehow missed. If you walk up on the main street you will find it easily: it is well marked and paved. We did the full walk from the bottom of the hill all away to the other side in a couple of hours. This place is the highlight by far.

The view is good and a nice place to visit. There are 2 view points. You can stop car on the cliff for a cold breeze. There is a small trail which can take you to top, if you have time visit that too.

Its promenade is continuing to the tip of the cape, and its scenery is the horizon of sea as far as you can see. this cape are made by same type lava stone, like as pillars, with Takachiho gorge.
Possible to reach by local bus from Nobeoka station with "Higashi-Hososhima(東細島)" line, bus number is 82. You may best to get off "Mihokogaura-Kouen(御鉾ヶ浦公園)" next Higashi-Hososhima. 5 buses available in week day, 3 also week end a day. about 17min walking distance.
1,100yen from Nobeoka but you can use 1day bus pass. better to ask at station. about 1h10m one way.
