Karatsu Castle

Castle and places around the castle is really beautiful 😍 Definitely a must visit in Japan 🤩 It seems like wisterias are blooming in the end of April and beginning of may but when I went (27-28 of April) more than half of them were fallen so maybe going a little bit earlier might be better. Even this way they were beautiful I can't imagine them when they are all in bloom.

The chance to climb to the higher floors of Karatsu Castle and take in expansive views of the city and the charming coastline is one of its highlights. When the surrounding sakura trees flower in the cherry blossom season, the view from the summit is particularly stunning.

Karatsu Castle is a fascinating and informative experience, but be aware that, in comparison to other Japanese castles of a similar size, the interior may feel a little cramped. Still, this doesn't take away from the castle's and its surrounds' overall charm.

Karatsu castles is one of the great tourist point in Karatsu, Saga, Japan. Lots of people visit through out the weekend and normal days. Karatsu castle remind us of the old Japan when the past kings were ruling the kingdom. In Karatsu castle there are two floors which have some ancient pottery collection as well as old swords, spears and the culture of Japan's people. Scenery from the tower's top floor is Marvelous. You can see Karatsu town as well as the ocean which is spectacular view. The most amazing thing is that there is a veil tree is more than 140 years old and people are still trying to save that tree. Overall Karatsu castle is one of the most beautiful castle I have ever seen. Definitely going to visit again.

Worth the walk! Start early, it opens at 9 am, and wished I noticed it before but I did so I climbed 231 steps up, so turn left at entrance and take d elevator, it's like 100 yen for adults, seniors above 70 free ! Enjoy

Had a lot of fun exploring the grounds of this small castle! It has a few spots for the Yuri on Ice Fans! Super cute and had a great view! Lots of Sakura trees and a large wisteria venue as well

I really enjoyed their view from the top of the castle. They had an open balcony unlike other castles in Japan so it was really cool.

Nice castle. The interior has been transformed into a museum. The view from the top is amazing. There is a small Shinto shrine just outside.

You can actually get a goshuin from the castle's gift shop.

The castle is so beautiful I think I would like to come again to see it in every season. The city also the peaceful place for those who love slow life and want to find something special in their journey.

Definitely one of my favourite castle in japan, not crowded like the others. With plenty of things to see and the panoramic view of karatsu town and seashore.

The amazing tree at the top of the stairs that drive you to the castle its really impressive, beautiful views up the castle and where you can appreciate all the islands.

Nostalgia classic. Relaxing vibe with plenty of good restaurants.

The castle is small, but the view around it is spectacular.

The observation deck on the fifth floor can only be accessed for a fee (500 yen); on the way up there are exhibits and information on the town’s history and the clans who shaped it (in Japanese). There’s also a small souvenir shop on the first floor of the castle.

I came to this place because of Saga on Ice event. When there is so many Yuri on Ice attributes. Karatsu Castle is indeed a beautiful and great place. I love walking around Karatsu Castle area or taking a short break and taking beautiful pictures of the castle's area. Karatsu Castle is one of my favorite place in Japan and when I go to Japan, I always visit Karatsu Castle.

Very nice place to be visited in Karatsu with awesome sunset view (winter time) from the top of the castle. Since the castle is built near the coast so that you are able to view the horizon in all degrees clearly.
In addition to the awesome view, you should spend some more time to learn about the history of Karatsu Castle during the Sengoku Time in Japan too. For those who are interested in Japanese History you shall never miss it!

Really nice Castle to visit. There is a lift which takes you to the castle but, it cost 100yen. You can buy some omiyage on the first floor.
