Altitude Madarao

The staff are excellent and very friendly l y and helpfully. We had the family suite and it was perfect for us and our two teens. There was two rooms, so the teens had there own space. Clean and well kept. Very close to the ski runs. 5 min walk to the Ski school. We had such a great time. The staff also very accomodating to drive us into town for dinners.

Definitely recommend Altitude.

Our group of six had an amazing time at altitude! JJ, Char & Fraser were absolutely incredible hosts and their hospitality was amazing - great suggestions, breakfast and awesome shuttle service for dinner and onsen. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Plus, went above and beyond for the whole lodge after the earthquake during our trip. Thanks team!

My friends and I (group of 6) stayed here for 5 nights. Our whole experience was exceptional! The entire 5 days the crew went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The rooms were clean and tidy and the breaky each morning was delicious!

We had a fantastic stay at Altitude. The lodge is clean, warm and has plenty of cosy nooks to hang out in after skiing. 2 minutes walk and you are strapped in and riding on the slopes. The team were lovely and helped us with local info and transfers to restaurants and the onsen. We will be back.

Great location and super warm and cosy lodge. The managers, Fraser, Charlotte and JJ made all the difference for our stay. Charlotte went way above and beyond to cater for our daughter’s dietary needs. Could not ask for anything more from these guys! Amazing, if I could give ten stars I would!

This location is superb. You can almost consider it ski in ski out... it's down a short road to the Madarao/Tangram ski fields, and if there's been snow, you can use it. The Japow certainly delivered this trip in Japanuary.
Comfortable and warm, this place has charm. There's even a Nintendo Wii in the basement for the kids or young at heart.
Currently being run by a Kiwi couple and a Japanese with Hawaiian influence, the vibe could not be more relaxed. They put on an awesome varied breakfast feast each day and free shuttle you out to your dinner destination each night. There's a number to reach the hosts anytime you need. Extra special features of Snow cave and sled to borrow. Paths are kept clear, there's a drying room, free washing with a small charge for the dryer, dining/lounge area to hang out in, snacks and noodles to purchase, drinks vending machine which includes a mystery selection, free bus stop pick up and drop off also. I would totally recommend this place.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Yummy breaky everyday. Easy to get into town with their shuttle to get dinner every night.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Altitude. It was very clean and well located, but what set it apart was the amazing hospitality of Jesse, Cassie and Coey. Would highly recommend staying there if you’re planning on skiing in Madarao

Jessie and Cassie were wonderful! They are super helpful and responsible. Hotel was cozy and nice. Close to ski run and gear rental shops.

Staff were so friendly and accommodating, always helped out where they could.

Altitude was excellent! Great location - the ski field is basically at the end of the driveway, it's just a 2 minute walk and you're on the mountain. A hot breakfast and proper coffee every morning was a lifesaver. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, plus the staff were helpful and welcoming, even driving us to dinner a couple of times. The icing on the cake was when I realised about 4 months later that I'd left a jacket behind and they found it and posted it back to Australia for me! Talk about service. Highly recommend Altitude Madarao.

What a great stay. Jesse and Cassie could not have done more to make it a great experience, their service level was off the charts - thanks you two for making our stay so easy and enjoyable.

Really nice place where to stay! Awesome Staff! We did not have a car they gave us a ride to the restaurant and came to pick us up when we were done! 3 minutes walking to the slopes!

Great place. Friendly staff. Best locaton. It is close to ski fields, a few steps away and put your ski and go. We definitely will come back. I will recommend this place for all my friends.
