Great place if you want to see a real Bamboo Forest, not just the Instagram Hotspots with lots of people. I was there in the afternoon, but when it's dark you can enjoy the Farm illuminated . Must be really beautiful! There is also a shop, you can buy different things like T-shirts, earrings, etc. The Restaurant wasn't open, maybe because it was a weekday and also a rainy day. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and had the whole farm to myself. There are also swings, great photo Spot! I highly recommend it if you are in the Utsunomiya/ Nikko area!

The Wakayama family has been devoted to the advancement of bamboo agriculture since 100 years ago. Opening the farm to the public 8 years ago, the experience has been really good. Many thanks to the lady at the counter who took time to introduce the place to us. Today is also the Tanabata Festival, and we were invited to write wishes on bamboo plaques that we tied on a rope in the forest. Lovely place, highly recommended off the beaten track!

What a neat spot! We learned about bamboo and its history/ uses. We walked through the different kinds of bamboo and stopped at the swings. Theres also restrooms, gift shop, art gallery, and a tea house, and lots of frogs in the bushes! It’s probably amazing in the evening all lit up. Definitely a great little spot to break up a long road trip to Nikko or Gunma.

A vast bamboo forest. It is very pleasant to walk through different plots of bamboo varieties. There is a tea house with delicious matcha tea and you get the dishes as a gift

This place exceeded expectations!! I thought “walking through a bamboo forest might be cool and eh it’s pretty standard Australian entry prices”. We did not expect to spend 2.5 hours there. To be fair we’re nerds and therefore actually spent time in the little museum translating all the information. Then really meandered through the forest. Sat and drank our matcha tea in our bamboo cups which we got to keep. Had a swing on the swing. Got back and built a lantern as a souvenir. They also have bows and arrows or water guns for kids to make. Then got really caught up in the gift shop buying things like a quill and a cat toy. They also offer cute activities like dress up with photographer and forest picnic if you pre-book. Plus nighttime lights entry. If you a have a feint interest in the science or use of bamboo, I recommend it for sure.

Not many tourists the day we visited. Even though it was a Japanese holiday. Very big areas. Different varieties of bamboo. Great environment.

Breathtaking bamboo forest which extends as far as the eye can see. In comparing this forest to all the ones I’ve been to - hands down this one is the best 😍. It is the largest bamboo forest/farm in all of Japan which grows about a dozen different varieties.

They have a lovely night illumination which was surreal. We went during the day and came back at night for the full experience❣

Free parking is available and the fee to enter is ¥500 but if you opt for the matcha tea in a bamboo cup it’s ¥1,000.

The bamboo forest was a very pleasant place to visit! There were beautiful paths to walk along with a variety of bamboo crafted pieces throughout the area. We especially enjoyed the swing! We were able to enjoy a nice cool drink of green tea from bamboo cups that we were able to purchase. There is a small gift shop where there are items created from bamboo as well as a variety of treats. It was a great way to spend the afternoon!

The forest is small, but the atmosphere is nice.
Seeing where they filmed some of the samurai movies was a nice experience.
The tea was the best part. Being able to buy and keep your bamboo cup was really nice touch for the place to use all its resources to give you an interesting experience

The bamboo walk in utsunomiya is a beautiful place and the illumination makes it a blissful walk in the twilight. They have multiple charges. The entry fee is ¥500 and if you want to see the illumination it’s another ¥500. And if you want to have the free tea, then it’s another ¥500. But it’s all worth it!

The experience here was manifolds breathtaking! Who knew bamboo could be so inspiring? It saw the many uses of bamboo and realised the beauty in its very own nature. The staff takes really good care of the forest and this makes it picturesque.

The place was amazing. It was serene. A nice place to have bbq and enjoy the calming view of the bamboo trees. They have other activities too like berry picking depending on the season. They also offer kimono experience with tea ceremony. Activities should be booked in advance.

There are over 10000 bamboos growing in this Bamboo forest. It is actually a farm that supplies bamboo shoots in the spring to Toyosu market.

Various TV cms and movies were set here.

In September it is possible to sign up for chestnut picking activities, or just enjoy a stroll in the bamboo forest, and drink matcha served in a fresh bamboo "cup". After dark, there is light up for a different type of atmosphere.

I can't say enough about this place. It's Mecca for moso. The Wakayamas have been friends and inspiration for over 20 years. The transformation in recent years is wonderful. The staff have put their all into it so that people can learn about and appreciate bamboo in a new light. Four Seasons Bamboo Forest is the perfect name because bamboo truly is fascinating all year long!

Exceptional bamboo forest. Forget about Arashiyama, this is the true real deal.

Barely any tourist, you can feel all the tranquility and inner peace here! There is a nice bamboo swing that is so fun to play especially against the quietness of the bamboo forest!

You can take the bus directly from utsunomiya station (bus 52) and just a short walk from one ot the stations.

You can walk freely between the bamboo and have a matcha inside a bamboo cup, if you buy the matcha set with your ticket you can drink it whenever you want and take the bamboo cup home as a present. There is also an amazing swing made of bamboo.

Absolutely stunning.
The admission fee was more than I pay for most outings, but the staff was really nice and the scenery was perfect for a photo shoot or just a peaceful stroll. The snacks and tea provided were delicious too!
