Liquor Mountain Rokkaku Kiyamachi

Focus on the whisky when you're there. Do not turn left and pay no attention to the padlocked wine fridge. There are no grand cru or millesime champagne there. Your eyes are playing tricks on you, and the prices that are cheaper than in France are pure illusions.

If you decide to buy wine there, please do that after I leave Kyoto.

Excellent selection of Scotch whisky. Good selection of Japanese whiskeys, but did not find The Yamazaki. Bought Nikka Yoichi at a very good price.

This (liquor mountain) is the best/ONLY place to get any decent whisky in Japan if you don't want to pay through the nose for it. Staff were really helpful despite limited English

お酒の種類も多いですし、いいお酒が安く買えるので大変助かっています。

どちらかと言うと居酒屋のスタッフの方が書いてこられるお店です。
もちろん普通の人も買えます。
ビール一本から宅配してくださるそうで、店員さんが忙しそうに配達してました！

Nice liquor store with great selection of Scotch Whisky. I was a bit disappointed with the Japanese Whisky selection though - no Yamazaki at all and only one Hibiki and a couple Nikkas - but they had enough to fill my duty free quota. Very impressive selection of Scotch Whiskies, though, and a range of other liquors. A great find right downtown Kyoto. The staff was very friendly and wrapped each of my bottles thoroughly in bubble wrap - all made it safely to my destination!

This place has a lot of reasonably priced sake, beer, wine, mixed drinks, other liquors and soft drinks. It even has fruit for garnishes!
