Moo escorted us on a trip to Arita Ceramic region which was a fabulous experience to off the beaten tourist track places.

Kyushu Journeys planned a 10-day trip for us that included a rental car, hotel reservations, restaurant recommendations, and lots of interesting and fun activities based on a detailed questionnaire they sent out beforehand. We visited a soy sauce factory and katsuobushi factory (I'm a chef), tried our hand at indigo dying, viewed serene temples and gardens, bathed in incredible onsens, ate delicious local food, and hiked for a couple of days in Yakushima, one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen. We felt truly privileged to experience a Japan that most people don't get to see. I can't recommend Kyushu Journeys enough!

Kyushu Journeys did a fantastic job planning for our family trip to Kyushu recently. The assistance provided in our bookings from air tickets to hotels to car rental, etc. was second to none. The places they recommended for us to visit and to have our meals were great. Both Simon and Moo did a wonderful job to locate places for us, as Muslim travellers, to perform our daily prayers throughout our journey.

We would recommend to all our Muslim friends from all over to engage the services of Kyushu Journeys whenever you are planning for a trip to the beautiful island of Kyushu, Japan. You will not be disappointed, Inshaa Allah.

Tours to Arita for ceramics and to Hita for old town Mameda and fruit picking were well done and memorable. Locations were very interesting and lunches were very good. We will use them again, next trip.

Kyushu Journeys did an excellent job of planning our 10 day trip to Yakushima and Kyushu.
Their detailed itinerary, including the useful map codes for navigation and Google map and website links, was thoroughly and thoughtfully put together. In addition, they were accessible during the planning stage and while we were on the road they promptly responded to questions and requests. In one instance they even tracked down the name of a potter using a photo of a piece of pottery that my husband liked!
I am so glad that we worked with them to plan our trip.

I highly recommend working with Kyushu Journeys! I connected with them when planning my first trip to Japan next month. Simon helped we navigate the quickly changing travel restrictions that were quite confusing. Kyushu Journeys had the best and most organized information on their website about all the requirements. Simon was extremely professional, responsive and so helpful! He helped walk me through some very confusing requirements. I couldn't have figured it out on my own. We had little time to organise hotel bookings and what to do once we landed in Fukuoka. Found Kyushu Journeys on the internet and their mission statement suited what we were looking for.
Moo was so kind and met us at the JTB counter at the airport to help us book our train journeys and see us off on the express bus outside the airport terminal. Simon and Moo were quick to reply on whatsapp when I had a question or 2. They tailored an 8 night visit to our requirements. Took a lot of stress out of planning for ourselves as we were not familiar with the island and did not want a frantic tour of North Kyushu.

Thank you, Kyushu Journeys, for organising our private tour in April 2023. From food, culture to sightseeing, we have enjoyed what was uniquely Kyushu.

Some memorable experiences, such as seeing a whole row of late-blooming cherry blossom trees in Aso and touring Dejima in kimono, were possible because of our guide Sensei. Driver Hara san made our journey safe and comfortable. Both of you gave us the full Japanese hospitality.

Thanks also to Steve for guiding and driving us around in Yakushima. You impressed us with your knowledge of the beautiful island.

Simon, Moo and Yasmin gave the tour a human touch by meeting us and seeing to arrangements in Fukuoka. It was nice spending time with you.

What can I say? The tour exceeded my expectations on all counts - a truly wonderful experience. I have never been on a tour before but think it unlikely that I could find another one with such high standards - from the variety of sightseeing and activities to the accommodation and food. And I must add a special mention about our guide: he was not only extremely knowledgeable (and made efforts to find out things he didn’t know) but unfailingly kind with a good sense of humour.

My girlfriend and I utilized the services of Kyushu Journey to plan out a 7-day sightseeing and onsen-hopping trip in the Kyushu Region of Japan. We started in the southern area of Kagoshima and drove our way up north to Fukuoka.

We first provided Simon with a list of our interests and he and Moo went to work. Simon and Moo planned out a daily itinerary of sightseeing and activities including visits to volcano sites, sake and shochu distilleries, movie locations, katana sword-makers, shrines, tea factories and other local destinations.

It was easy for us to follow the itinerary through maps, directions and websites they customized specifically for us. They also helped with locating amazing ryokan lodgings with wonderful indoor/outdoor onsen facilities within our travel areas.

Overall, we were very happy with the services provided by Kyushu Journeys. Kyushu island is a less travelled area of Japan and having local experts Simon and Moo plan out the trip definitely helped us experience the best of this region. Highly recommend.

Thank you Moo & Simon for organising such a fab trip for us ! The attention to detail, responsiveness and best of all, numerous "off the beaten path" recommendations were superb. We could not have discovered most of these destinations ourselves simply from non-Japanese travel websites. Can't wait to have you guys organise our next trip to Kyushu !

Really lovely company. Had correspondence with Simon who took the time to go above and beyond. Their responses to my enquiry were genuine and helpful. Communication was fast and efficient even tho I was in a completely different time zone. Would definitely recommend them! :)

Kyushu was such a welcome relief from the crowds of Tokyo & Kyoto. Thanks so much Moo and Simon for helping me discover the "real Japan"! My only regret is not spending more time in Kyushu.
