Hiraoka Park

This is such a beautiful park full of greenery and trees. It’s a great place to come for the Sakura viewing festival as well as plum flowers in the spring. There’s plenty of parking if you bring a car. There’s also delicious plum flavored soft ice cream for sale.

Superb place to experience Sakura trees. I visited this park after failing to see the Sakura trees in bloom at Goryokaku garden in Hakodate. You’ll need to walk about 750m before you arrive in the heart of the garden where the Sakura trees are and boy are they beautiful!! There was a special Sakura flavoured soft serve too and it was just pure bliss. Lots of local families and couples were there to visit and take photos. Overall it was a very rewarding visit.

Great park for a little adventure. Good for training on outdoor activities like trekking, hiking, and birdwatching. Note that there are two parts of the park: the smaller one with the sport fields and playground area, and the bigger one with forest and swamp areas and plum grooves. I wasn't aware of any connecting road between the two parts. The nearest JR train and subway stations are more than 2 km away.

There are two parts to this park. The larger park contains: the plum Grove, walking trails, park golf and wet land boardwalk area and across the road is the sports area: baseball, tennis and large playground. Both parks are beautiful but there is no connection path, or tunnel between the two areas over a large busy road which makes it inconvenient to enjoy both without driving or a 5-10min walk (must stop for traffic as it is near the highway ETC. Still it is worth the trip with the Plum Grove being a local favorite in May. Many dog walkers enjoy the area.

2023年5月6日、白梅は散っているものが多く、紅梅は散り始めでしたが、見事な花を見ることが出来ました。母が水戸の偕楽園よりも見事な梅林と言っております。梅林以外の林の散策路では野鳥やキツネ、エゾリスが見られ、湿原もあります。アップダウンがあり、散策にピッタリでした。

時折風で舞う花びらが
なんとも言えないくらい綺麗でした。
梅ソフトも美味しかったです。

2023.5.4、白梅は散りかけでしたが紅梅は満開でとても綺麗でした。
GW中でもそこまで人が多すぎるわけじゃなく、ゆっくり梅を堪能できて良かったです。
（ただし名物？の梅ソフトは30～40分待ちくらいだったようです）

なんだかんだ、この5年で3回か4回は梅を見に訪れてます。
とてもきれいです。
今年はコロナも落ち着いて、梅祭りを賑やかにできるのかな？
梅を見るスペース以外に、遊具がある広場や水辺や野原、とっても広いです。

本州では梅は2月くらいに咲くんですが、北海道では5月ですね。
この公園に来て白梅の花と香りに包まれると、小さい頃千葉の別荘で過ごしたことを思い出します。
柚子、八朔、こたつ、椿、水仙、梅の花。
今もすごく楽しいけど、小さい頃の思い出がふと甦る瞬間が愛おしくて、また、その瞬間を好きな人と共有したくて、何度も訪れてしまうんでしょうね。

2023追記
コロナによる規制がある程度なくなってから初めて行きました。混んでる〜！活気があって、これはこれでよかったです。来年も変わらず、みんなで梅を楽しめたらいいなと思います。

自然溢れる公園。
高低差もあり、園内を大きく一周するだけでもいい運動になります。

橋を渡り、梅林を眺め、原生林を通って、湿地帯を歩くなど飽きません。

今時期は楢木の下に沢山のどんぐりが落ちていてエゾリスが冬籠り前に腹ごしらえをしています。

割と空いているのもいいところです。

梅園區正開始開花，還有60%的樹還是花苞狀態。紅白交錯的花朵，美不勝收。梅園旁邊還有一塊濕地，感覺生態很豐富。
停車場的洗手間有點掉漆，黑漆漆，沒有照明。
