Excellent onsen! There are many room types (individually named) and the photos on their website were very accurate. First time, we stayed in Sekirei room (western and Japanese-style beds) while the 2nd time, we stayed in Fukuchi room (only Japanese-style beds) and loved it!
Food was outstanding, service is impecable. They do have a couple of English-speaking staff which helped

We've enjoyed our stay with the Ryokan. Although English is not well understood for all the staff, we were respectfully accommodated and assisted by Prabin. Nansuikaku should be proud to have such service-minded personnel.

Booked the Sazanka suite which had its own private outdoor bath. Facility is overall very nice and what I was expecting. Paid an extra 2200 yen per person for the upgraded meal. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were excellent and the highlight of our stay. The outdoor baths were partially closed for renovations during our stay, so they rotated male/female time blocks. The free shuttle service from Sasaguri station was prompt and easy. The hotel had an English speaking staff to help us with check in and explain everything.

good kaiseki food. also nice condition of room. i think this ryokan is best of beat near by fukuoka.
but, tourists need to consider the transportation.bus is not convenient. if you can, rent a car.

This is an amazing onsen hotel. It is far away from the city but it's totally worth the travel for a full day of relaxation. You can enjoy your stay, soaked into multiple natural hot springs and then dine within the hotel. The food are delicious and finely crafted for every guest to enjoy.
Every staff is hospitable, friendly and professional to ensure the guests have the best experience during their stay in Nansuikaku.

We were a non-Japanese speaking family travelling as a group of 4; booked 2 rooms.

While the hotel staff did not speak great English (and so most communication was done through miming or a phone translator), they had a lot of heart and tried their best to make us feel welcomed.

The hotel was slightly dated, but I feel it only added to its charm, and made the experience more 'traditional'. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were decent (not mind-blowing for me personally since I don't really enjoy this style of food, but my parents loved it).

The outdoor onsen was also lovely (it's a 3 minute walk from the hotel), it is complimentary for hotel guests, and had 4-5 hot pools + an ice pool + a sauna (rotates during the day for male / female use). The hotel also has 2 indoor onsens (though nothing as grand as the outdoor onsen).

Travel to and from Hakata Station took a little over an hour by bus (JPY 890 each way); the bus stops literally at the entrance of the hotel.

I would like to say here a big thank you to the staff at Nansuikaku who had to work extra hard to overcome the language barrier - we really appreciated it.

The outdoor onsen is superb especially while when I visit there was nobody using. The family onsen is a must try for private use and it is free for 45mins.
