We booked this Ryokan for 1 night only to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our 5th marriage anniversary, as part of our 2.5 week long stay in Osaka. The booking included a Traditional Style Room with an outdoor private onsen, and two meals. The room was absolutely great, the traditional bed was a delight, the views of the river even better. The private onsen water was very hot, but given the cold temperature outside (it was February), it felt like heaven.

Despite the staff speaking little English, my own limited knowledge of Japanese coupled with the little wonders of technology the staff possessed for instantaneous translations, were enough to have us understand each other. The owners do speak English and we had the opportunity to meet up with them and talk a bit. The owner had even told us about the national Shogi competitions that took place there a few months earlier and he showed us pictures of it as well.

Each customer gets a nice set of Yukata to wear around the premises of the Ryokan. We used them to both visit the public onsen inside the Ryokan, as well as for the evening and morning meals. The public onsen both inside and outside were great. My husband and I really enjoyed them. The meals were absolutely delicious.

The dinner chosen by us included pheasant hot pot among other dishes as part of a 5 course meal. Breakfast was also a delight, and we tried out many new culinary inventions we hadn’t been aware of prior to our visit.

To get to the Ryokan and back to the Takatsuki Station, we used the available shuttle bus provided by the hosts, entirely free of charge. On our departure they warmly saw us off, adding to the beautiful experience.

The experience was certainly not cheap, but absolutely worth it. I think we will be definitely coming back.

Must do whilst in Osaka. Short 15 minute train from Osaka station and then 15 minutes in a taxi or they have a shuttle bus running a few times a day from the local train station. My wife and I did a private bath for 1.5 hours and it was perfect, the view overlooking the Forrest and river was amazing, really wish we had stayed a night here. The staff were amazing and knew enough English to get by. Highly recommend and will be coming back!!

Loved our stay. The staff is what made this place a unique and awesome experience. Especially our dinner waitress, she was amazing. The view from the rooms was serene. The hot and cold water onsens are great and have plenty of space to accommodate lots of people. Would highly recommend it for the price and quality of the stay.

Sansuikan was lovely. Everyone was very accommodating and peaceful. We enjoyed an amazing 10 course Japanese style meal the first evening and then after a wonderful breakfast we had a super delicious hotpot.

The food amazing. The staff were pleasant. The spa was relaxing. No complaints

Loved the friendly atmosphere! We spent two comfortable nights here in one of the the smaller rooms and were perfectly happy with our accommodations. Delicious breakfast and dinner, whether you opt for the full dinner or lighter bento box (much bigger than you'd expect!) Men and women alternate in the two spa areas so you get a chance to try both.

Lovely people, lovely food, lovely accommodation and great onsen. I totally loved staying here! My river view was perfect for slowing down and relaxing. Very clean and I do not speak any Japanese - the staff here were lovely and so helpful. I didn't feel judged!

A truly Japanese experience.

We paid for a room overlooking the river, with huge open windows. The sound of the rushing water as you drift off to sleep is a great reason to not face the mountain.

Premium room comes with the premium food. Highly recommend.

The springs themselves were a great experience. Different springs are separated by gender, with the order switching each day.

The onsen was almost completely empty when we arrived, with a few natives and foreigners in the shuttle. On a Monday night the Ryokan felt like the Japanese version of the Shining; empty and spooky. There's no bar or late night bathing (closes at 11pm) so prepare to get cozy with some strangers outside on the porch or just hang out in your room.

Overall, great experience that I would highly recommend!

Great for a getaway and relaxation. Staff speak a tiny bit of English but it's enough to just get by.
Food is very interesting and if you are a foreigner you will probably be eating a lot of things you don't know. Dinner was yummy, I wasn't a big fan of the breakfast but my boyfriend liked it.

We live in Takatsuki so we come here once every few months and have incredible experience every time 😌
People are incredibly friendly and kind, the foods are amazing even though we come here initially for the onsen, ♨the Japanese bento set plus personal hotpot totally blown us away. Would completely pay 3,000 yen just for the ryokan style meal alone. 🍱
The scenery is calm and relaxing as the ryokan is up in the mountain⛰。If you sign up, they’ve bus picking you up from Takatsuki JR station so super accessible. 🚐 Definitely my favorite hidden place in Takatsuki, want to spend one night here to support the locals during this Corona 🙌

An amazing traditional Japanese ryokan (inn). The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. While they didn't speak much English, this didn't stop them from assisting me or stop me from having a great stay. I highly suggest you view their website or online booking services to view photos of the inn. They will give you a very accurate description of the inn. Beyond the hospitality, the food was absolutely delicious; on par with a five star restaurant. Again though, be sure to review pictures as the dishes are quite Japanese on nature and might not appeal to everyone's tastes (especially the breakfast). If you have an adventurous pallet or love Japanese food, you will not be disappointed. The second great feature was the spa/bath house. There are two areas that switch for men or women daily; one is significantly larger and has an outdoor hotspring. Both areas are wonderful however make no mistake and are sure to aid in your relaxation immensely. In conclusion, I highly recommend Hananosato Onsen Sansuikan (also googled as Osaka Sansuikan). A 5/5 experience I won't soon forget ^_^

Beautiful older ryokan with hot spring. The private bath was very nice. The nearest train station is Takatsuki station. You can arrange the Ryokan shuttle bus to pick you up or go by taxi. The website Japanese version has instructions with pictures where the bus will be. The bus will be parked in front of Kyoto Bank.

We were greeted by the staff upon arrival and immediately asked to switch to indoor sandals. We were served an elaborate and delicious Kaiseki multi course dinner in our room. After dinner the hostess laid out our futons. Breakfast was served in the breakfast dining hall.

The room we stayed in overlooked the mountain stream. It had WiFi Tv and large set of windows looking at the mountain and stream. Peaceful and romantic.

We loved our stay here. Faculties were absolutely beautiful and staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. A true ryokan experience for us.

A bit tucked away but we rented a car so it wasn't difficult for us to get around.
