Friendly staff. The hotel has total of 2 guest rooms. It has 1 bath room shared within the house ( 1 person at a time). Food is good. It has 2 parking lots. To have dinner better to arrive by 18.00.

The mamasan at Goyomon was the best!! We enjoyed our stay here so much, dinner and breakfast were excellent, the room was very comfortable. We stayed here in November and it was pretty cold outside but there were plenty of heaters in the house to stay warm. The rooms are all adjacent to one another with sliding panel doors that separate them, so be mindful not to make noise. There is a very nice bathing room here which is open to use during any time. The village of Ainokura is very remote, quiet, and absolutely beautiful. Spend some time walking around the village, go make some Washi paper, and explore the museums which show how the village came to be and the very interesting construction methods of the houses there.

This is THE BEST homestay I ever stayed in. The owner is warm and friendly, and she can speak a little English. The place is clean, has modernized toilets and strong running hot water. Breakfast and dinner is provided and both meals are awesome!

The house is just located after the gift shop so it's very easy to locate and you don't have to trek too deep in the village with your bags.

I will highly recommend this homestay to anyone!

Tip:
Make sure to get off the bus at AINOKURAGUCHI bus stop as Google maps ask you to alight at another bus stop and you will get lost because the pathway may be blocked especially during winter.

An unforgettable stay at one of the traditional Gassho houses steeped in history and impeccably preserved. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, the house is kept warm for those cold evenings and the food was delicious, though I never thought I'd try carp sashimi...but hey you gotta try it.

Goyomon house is located in the middle of a stunning and well-maintained village. The hostess speaks some English and was quite charming. The Ryokan has a shared bath, toilet, and common area. There was also air conditioning in my room. The food was a delight as well: Definitely recommended.

The lady running the inn (Hiromi) was lovely, she speaks basic english and we found we could get by. We only stayed for 1 night but the village was so beautiful it was hard to say goodbye the next day. Note that it gets packed with tourists in the late morning to afternoon so if you want peace, get there early morning. We found it was easy to get to by bus and train from Toyama.
The room was very large and had good heating, the only issue was the other guest next door decided to leave her light on all night which meant our room didnt get dark enough for me to sleep. But otherwise it was lovely. The food is traditional japanese and there is limited wifi which goes down some times.

I was the only one staying at goyomon the night I was there. However, the owner was super lovely and even offered to drive me to see the lit up gasshou hits in nearby suganuma. Ainokura is quite small, but you pretty much get it all to yourself when you stay overnight. Food was good overall. Some dishes were amazing eg the tempura and local river fish roasted over the fireplace, but the sashimi I think was cut quite badly. I kept biting into it and getting a bone or tendon, not really sure, but inedible bits at any rate.

Absolute the best! highly recommend! Host is very friendly! We came during winter and scenery was really beautiful! It's very quiet and I will choose this place over shinagawa. Less touristy too! Definitely coming back again!

A nice area to explore/stay, if you like to know and feel how the Gokayama's lifestyle and culture remained very traditional for many years after the majority of the country had modernized.
