Gokayama Onsen Gokasansou

Our visit to this hotel was back to almost four years ago.

It was winter time and we came for the Gassho Zukuri Folk Village and other places in this area. And this hotel had their onsen. That was why we came here, also to away from other tourists.

But, what amazed me was the views from the hotel room's window, even four years later. We just came back from the outdoor onsen for a short rest before the dinner. The valley was not totally dark yet, and the white snow was still falling from the sky. Through the window, we saw the trees and the rocks were black, surrounded by the white snow and cloud. The whole black-and-white mountain view was just like a perfect Chinese Ink Painting. The view was so beautiful. And the whole place was also quiet that made people calm. That was the way for a vacation, right!

We enjoyed our staying very much, so as the nice dinner and breakfast. Hopefully, we can visit again soon, after this pandemic.

Rich and nice dinner and breakfast with lovely serving staff and traditional foods and vegetables of the area and season. Clean rooms with all necessary amenities even they supply traditional Japanese Yukata sleeping gown that you can wear in the hotel for dinner time. Staffs all nice and helpful. Was easy to WALK to here from Ainokura Village through the Forrest Road 30 minutes on a nicely paved way, no problem to roll a suitcase carry-on on the way to the Hot spring hotel as it is mostly down the slope. Their Hot Spring ♨ was also nice with a sauna and outdoors hot tub pool in the forest. Very reasonable option when you can't get a room inside Ainokura Village. The World Heritage Bus stops very near on the main road down from the hotel and there is a small thatched roof house near their premises that used to be a jail, nice to take pictures of it! Once a week they have a show at 8pm after dinner, to introduce the traditional folklore dance and wooden instrument.

The onsen was lovely.we were able to bathe under the stars. Delicious food.

I had a great experience here in the snow. The food was great and the outdoor bath was magical. I was completely surrounded in snow and could see a view of the mountains. It inspired me to compose a haiku.

お風呂が熱く
鳥が鳴く

Roughly translated to form an English haiku.

The snow is falling
The outdoor bath is so hot
The birds are singing

It sounds better in Japanese.

Spacious, sparkling clean and comfortable, with great hospitality despite language barriers. Gokasanso is just minutes away from Ainokura by bus. It's the best place you can stay in Gokayama and yet enjoy modern comforts. The village already has some gassho houses right at the bus stop. If you're carrying luggage, it's best to request for the shuttle service as the route to Gokasanso is full of steep slopes. If without luggage, I recommend making your own way up through the steps and slopes while taking in the breathtaking mountain scenery.

Breakfast and dinner was not filled with your usual exquisite food items, but it's extremely sumptuous, very balanced and full of delicious local delicacies. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting there for an hour plus savoring every single item.

Not all the rooms come with a private bathroom, so for the uninitiated, do take note as you may need to shower in the public bath area. Once I tried it, I overcame it easily as everyone just goes around minding their own business.

Very nice mid-scale half western, half ryokan style of hotel. Staff was ok, could have been better. I arrived during heavy snow. Nobody came out to help directing my car or luggage. They upgraded my room to much bigger room. That was huge plus that made up for my arrival. My room had beds instead of futons, which is my preference. Huge bathroom and high quality amenities. Onsen was just normal, nothing special. Can't day anything about dinner dive I only had breakfast. It was simple and very Japanese style breakfast. If you want western style, you'll hate it. Location is very good for seeing sites around Gokansan. You need a car to come here. Overall, I did enjoy my stay and would recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. Both the food and the room were great. Location is near a world heritage site which we enjoyed. The bath was excellent too.

Nice hotel with good service. Room is big and clean. The onsen is wonderful and when I was here, it snowed. I took a bath at the outside onsen bath and it was magical.

五箇山の合掌造り集落から近く、昔ながらの街並みからちょっと入ったきれいな温泉付ホテルです。
夕食の飛騨牛は認定証付で、他の料理も美味しくいただきました。
日本酒の呑み比べセットもお得で良かったです。

Le personnel est très serviable, l’ambiance rétro fait partie du charme. Ma chambre était grande, propre et bien décorée. Le onsen est agréable et la nourriture variée avec un service parfait. Le petit spectacle était charmant et la chanteuse émouvante, j’ai adoré.

若你是從小松機場自駕且隔天要安排前往白川鄉合掌村，非常推薦在這裡入住一晚！

晚餐非常推薦的美味，料理長很用心，我們有一位三歲的小孩店家特地安排了小朋友的餐點。

當天入住時只有約4-5組客人，晚上及早晨泡湯的時候幾乎是包場的狀態，非常舒服。

房間只有廁所沒有浴室，所以洗澡必須要到大眾湯去。

隔天吃完早餐前往合掌村很順路，推薦！

施設は少し古めだがリフォームされてる、料理が美味い

白川郷をはじめ周りの集落を見学してからの宿泊にはベストだと思います。只し15キロ位行かないとコンビニなどはありません、また近くの食事やさんは夕方以降やっていない所ばかりですので宿泊の場合2食付きをおすすめします。

富山県側の合掌造り集落として知られる菅沼と相倉の中間、上梨の高台にある国民宿舎。
国道156号線から橋を渡って流刑小屋の横を登る。南北の谷の東側に立地。
和室・洋室、仕様は様々用意されている。全室川側の西向き。２階と３階が客室。
五箇山温泉というが、成分表示などは五ケ山温泉、アルカリ性単純温泉、源泉33.4℃。夜間に閉鎖時間はなく、午前９時まで入浴可能。日帰り温泉としても利用。サウナあり（時間指定）、露天風呂あり。男女は一ヶ月交代としている。１階にあり、眺望は浴室前の庭。
夕食はコース選択、地元料理に飛騨牛などを＋するかどうか。１８時から時間選択。朝食は和定食、７時15分から時間選択。レストランは１階で外の眺望はなし。
曜日指定で民謡などの披露。
Wi-Fi設定あり、テレビは地上波のみ。
特に散策コースなどはないが、国指定重要文化財村上家住宅（合掌造り、300円、割引券あり）、県指定「流刑小屋」、国指定重要文化財だが外観のみ（管理人さんがいれば入場可）の羽馬家住宅などあり。

綺麗で清潔な施設は、500円で温泉と休憩室でゆっくりできます。温泉は程々の大きさの内湯と露天風呂と小さなサウナがあります。露天風呂は、屋根がかかっている範囲が狭いため、ひどい雪の中では暑いのか冷たいのか分からない状態でしたww。売店も充実していて、アイスや飲みもの、土産物が置いてありました。
徒歩圏内には、国の重要文化財の羽馬家住宅や村上家住宅、県指定の流刑小屋などの見所もあるので、気候の良いときには散歩も良いでしょう🎵
