Odawara Castle Park

Great place to visit for a day trip out of Tokyo. Especially in the morning on the way to Hakone.

Great place for you who have an interest in Japan's history 🥰 I greatly enjoyed my visit inside the castle and also having my ice cream on it's park..

The park is atmospheric and cool to digest the castle and view. It has a shop that sells ice cream which is really good.

This is a wonderful park surrounding the historic Odawara Castle. We strolled around the grounds, looking at the children's playground with toy train, The Moat, the amazing Coi Carp in the moat, and had a coffee in a lovely little coffee shop near the park hotel and a shrine.

Park is chill! They have lanterns designed from all the schools in the area and other exhibits to keep visitors entertained!

Nice Park will be best in late March and April.

What a wonderful experience!! If you get the chance take it. Loads of history right at your finger tips there. You can see some major choke points and really appreciate the tactics used by the people of that time period. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Odawara Castle Odawarajō was originally built in the mid-15th century and soon fell into the hands of the Hojo Clan, one of the most powerful clans during the Warring States Era who used it as a base to control the region around modern-day Tokyo. In 1590, Toyotomi Hideyoshi attacked the castle, and with the defeat of the Hojo Clan, reunited Japan.

Great place to rest for a bit, enjoy the view, the food stalls, have a little picnic. Smoking area near the baboon cage.

I visited this castle on a work trip. It’s very educational. You can download a guide on your smartphone and can listen to different discriptuons of displayed artifacts. The castle is beautiful and a great place to take photos.

You can buy a regular ticket 500¥ or 600¥ for a tocket of both the castle and a projection mapping tour in another area around the castle grounds

If you’re looking for a place to check out some Japanese history in a beautiful setting and beat the crowds, this is the spot for you! We couldn’t go into the castle or some of the areas because of the COVID-19 state of emergency but once it is lifted it will be back to normal again.

Early September, most of the Lotus flowers were past bloom, but we were lucky. A small patch was just newly blossoming.

Pretty nice castle ground to wander around on a sunny day. There is a peaceful temple on the south side and a tea shop.

First castle I've been to, so don't have anything to compare it to. It was neat, only improvement for me would have been dual language signs that explain the history, but that's my own fault for not knowing Japanese.
