Less than 10 minute walk from Odawara Station. Coffee shops, restaurants and grocery stores all around. The staff were very helpful, they suggested I visit Chesiju Falls and gave me directions as well. The only thing I would say is that if you are taller than 6 feet 2 inches you will find some of the beds cramped. Had a wonderful time and would happily stay again.

booked this hostel last minute while on a short trip from Tokyo. the owner was very nice and came to the hostel to check me in, despite him not being there most of the time due to the coronavirus. the facilities were very good too. although i stayed for one night, i really enjoyed my experience here and would come back if im ever in the area. very affordable room, especially for a same-day, last minute booking, very clean and well stocked with kitchen equipment and body soap/shampoo in the shower. location is right near the train station, but the neighborhood isn't the best. a lot of hostess club, but that didn't matter as I just needed a place to stay for the night.

My friends and I booked this hostel intended for a temporary short stay due to the price and it’s convenience near to the station.
It was really worth it considering that it was supposed to be a budget hostel for travelers I think.
Friendly locals, and also the host/manager who was really fluent in English really helped us a lot in regards to advices for traveling around Hakone.
The vibe is akin to homestay.
My trip was short so I didn’t experience much of it sadly however I would love to come again to stay longer!

Plum hostel is a really attractive stay for budget travelers. Being only 5 minutes away from the Odawara station (and 2 minutes from the closest supermarket) it offers a comfortable place to stay, giving as much privacy as shared room can offer. Wooden quiet beds with curtains, eletricity sockets and a small shelf for personal necessities can be found in the room. Besides that there are two showers (inlc. Shampoo, conditioner, shower Gel) and a toilet - everything being neat and clean. There is also a common room next to the reception where free coffee and tea is being offered as well as the company of the hosts! All in all a very pleasant stay in a very pleasant area!

Plum hostel is a cozy little hostel in Odawara. The staff is really friendly and caring. Also the owner always have some tips for secretly hidden spots you definitely should visit, such as good places to enjoy the plum blossoms or amazing spots from where you can see Mt. Fuji - as in my case.
The kitchen is small but has everything you need. There are two showers and two toilets, so you don´t have to worry about them beeing blocked by other guests the time you need them.
It´s all clean and cozy. Also you have free Tea and coffee to drink, and free soap, shampoo and conditioner to use (I´ll mention this, because the last hostel is visited doesn´t even had towels to dry hands in the toilets ...)
The location is just perfect. It´s only a short walk from Odawara Station - but not that near you would be disturbed by the noise of the trains. Unlike in big cities like Tokyo you can eat in affordable and good restaurants near by. Also cheap supermarkets like Donkihote are only a 2 minutes walk away, if you rather prefer to cook by yourself.
Also Odawara Castle is only a 15 Minutes walk away. I visited the city in February, so I was lucky to see the plum blossoms blooming around the castle. It´s definitely worth a visit.
Also Odawara is pretty close to Hakone. You can do a day trip from here and go easily around with the Hakone Freepass acquirable at the information center at Odawara Station.

Conclusion: Plum Hostel is a good choice to explore Odawara and many good places around. The hostel is clean and the staff is friendly. Places around like Hakone, Atami Plum Garden, Tenzan Onsen are worth a visit.

Small hostel just with two rooms 3 min walk from Odawara bus/train station. Odawara is a perfect place to relax, eat, admire the 500 years old castle, swim in the cristal clear sea and a good base to explore Hakone area especially with the Hakone Free Pass ( 2 days -4000 Yen and all Hakone area transport is covered ). We loved the friendly atmosphere of this spotlessly clean hostel and the super kind staff made a lot for us to make our stay unforgettable. If I come to the area again, I would definitely stay here again. Audry, Yui, Hayato, thank you for all!

Fantastic hostel within a 10 min walk from the Odawara Station. The owner is also the person who runs the hostel. He is extremely easy going, friendly and helpful. He definitely made the place a 10 put of 10. The location is close by to the Odawara Castle. Many restaurants with a few mins from the hostel. The hostel offers free wifi, showers with hot water and a common use kitchen area. I definitely recommend this place to anyone going to visit Odawara.

Very bright and clean interior. The owner was a pleasure to interact with in English and the location is about a 10 minute walk from Odawara Station. This was great for visiting Hakone on a day trip. I made some friends here.

Met some lovely people. Odawara was fun. I could sleep very easily and the staff was great. Small and not that much luggage space, but enough to get by

Great place, very cool hosts, had a small party in the small dinning room area, was unexpected but very enjoyable. Bed was a bit hard but besides that no complaints, I will definitely stay again!

Cute tiny hostel. Don't let the first impression guide you, you can help cook dinner with the host. He made the best okonomiyaki!

It's a great place to meet other travelers. It's tiny, but feels great. it's in Odawara, for some reason I thought it was in Hakone, but I'd come back to it.
