What a lovely find. Yama-san and his Belgian wife opened this place 3 months ago after living in Osaka for 25 years. He makes artisanal coffee, carefully measuring out the portions and making sure the temperature and timings are right to give you a perfect cuppa...One unhurried cup at a time. His mocha brought new life into me on a freezing winter night and his latte and hot chocolate were also superb according to my wife and sons. We walked in after 7pm and he entertained us even though he had a family party next door. (I must have looked real cold).

Parking is free in the open space opposite his shop.

Thanks for being so nice to us Yama-San even though you had a family dinner party to attend next door. God bless you and your family with the gift of making people smile and spreading happiness. Hope mum knows how much you love her. Merry Xmas.

Cozy little Coffeeshop! Very friendly and nice Barista and it's possible to order and talk a little in english. Coffee (Cappuccino and Drip Coffee) was very good and very carefully made. Strong Recommendation!

You cannot find a better coffee anywhere else in Aso or even, Kumamoto.

I had a PERFECT cappuccino at Aso Coffee. The barrista/owner is a maestro, taking care to insure that the beans were not just freshly ground but perfectly so, that the steamed milk is poured into the cup on just the right way, and all of those other little touches that result in a wonderful coffee experience. And add to it that he insures there is a friendly atmosphere in the shop. All in all, a delightful experience.

Lovely local coffee shop connected to a salon and small school. Its run by a friendly couple who opened the door to welcome me, and gave me their sightseeing recommendations for the area.

The latte was better than most in Japan as well.

For the best cup of coffee in Kumamoto, you have to visit the Aso Coffee House. The coffee and brownie is delicious, you can taste it’s made with love and passion. Thank you for the lovely afternoon on a rainy day!

A very cute coffee run by a friendly barista and we met also his lovely wife. A good time to get a coffee and meet some local people. Highly recommended

아소에서 발견한 분위기 좋고 커피 잘하는 훌륭한 카페. 힙한 스타일의 사장님은 매우 친절했고 라떼 한 잔 한 잔을 매우 정성들여서 제공했다. 라떼 거품이 여느 카페처럼 거칠지 않고 매우 섬세했다. 아소산 분화구를 바라보는 뷰가 멋졌고 남향 통창에 내리쬐는 2월 햇살의 따스함은 덤. 주변 여행지를 추천해주시기도 했는데 그 중 타데와라 습지는 이번 여행의 큰 발견. 옆에 헤어샵을 겸하는 1인 업장이기 때문에 여유와 느긋함을 갖고 방문하신다면 후회하지 않을 것.

山さんにオススメしていただいた立原湿原は、翌日に行ってきました。 天気の良い日、雪の積もった山と広い草原は本当に壮観でした。阿蘇山は名不相応でしたが、山さんを通じて新たに知った湿原と、そこに向かうドライブの道が今回の旅の一番の感動でした。ラテは柔らかな泡とエスプレッソの濃厚な香りのバランスが絶妙でした。おかげさまで、今回の阿蘇くまもと旅行で良い思い出ができました。
