Aso Farm Land

Loved our stay here, it was a great fun for the kids with strawberry picking, petting zoo and an indoor playground. Onsen was beautiful. Staff at the reception were so helpful! (my husband lost a wallet and someone returned it - they made an effort to find his name based on a receipt and contacted him). Also staff at all other places (strawberry farm, restaurant) were super nice and friendly to the kids! Strongly recommended.

I visited on a day trip to see the obstacle course and was not disappointed. This is such a weird place and so fun. The petting zoo was also great for the kids and I was able to feed a beaver. However, from an animal welfare perspective, the petting zoo needs some work.😥

Most of the attractions have limited English instructions, so be prepared to translate.

To get here, there is a daily bus from Kumamoto which you may want to reserve your tickets for depending on what season you visit. I would also advise planning to spend the night so that you can enjoy more areas of the resort/park. I didn't have the time to visit the onsen which looked pretty extensive.

Most of the attractions have separate admission tickets.

We had a one night stay in dream zone. Our package came with dinner & breakfast (buffet), access to the huge hotspring facilities, and tickets to do 3 experiences (petting zoo, infant indoor gym, and the health land).

Extremely kid friendly, and the kiddo yukata is so cute. If we have to be picky:

- hotel parking was a bit confusing, it's on the other side of the road and after you parked, you walk a tunnel to get to reception
- hot spring was chaos after dinner and before 9:30pm. Kids were nuts and noisy, water splashing everywhere, parents did not attempt to keep their kids under control, no staff oversight. I took my girl before dinner as well and it was much calmer.

A place you can find a lot of kumamon goodies not just shopping and eating there are lots of activities which is good for families and I think it is good to spend a day there if time allows

Love the cartoon bun shaped houses. Unlimited access to volcanic hot spring if you are a guess. Food is great the kids love it all. We only stay a night. Can do 2. There are semi- outdoor (Outdoor but with cover ) like maze and climbing. It’s a bit old but kids like it.

We were planning to visit Mt Aso Crater and realized during our planning that the cute beavers we always see on Instagram are the same ones at Aso Farm Land. So we definitely had to visit and it was fun. Other than the beavers we enjoyed seeing the cute little monkeys, meerkat, prairie dogs, guinea pigs, owls, capybara and more!

We visited for about an hour on our way to another place. My wife loved the petting zoo which has a large assortment of animals that you can feed and pet. There are several that you can pick up and hold as well. We didn't use any of the other features outside of the gift shop, but I would say that this would be a great place to bring children.

This sport, health exercise is so big that it will take you 4 to 5 hours to finish it all. I had so much fun. Some task I could not do because too big! Only small kids can get in. Remember to be well prepared with first aid kit and ware outdoor trainers. Some task is hard work.
