10年程前の学力上位集団(熊本市内成績上位中学に追い付く程)達が卒業したあとは泣かず飛ばすの教育機関。熊本県もそのぶんこの学区に相応の予算を投じていた過去がある。建て替えまでしてしまうというね。これをきっかけに荒尾市内全域の学力向上を恒久的に期待していただけに残念である。

県北地域は玉名市、南関町を中心とした半導体の一大生産拠点として栄華を誇った時期もあり再興のチャンスも現在まで至るところであったはずである。

地元の立地を活かせず、先見性もなく、若者は当然の如く都市圏への就職が当たり前、かろうじて残る若者は公務員などの自らお金(評価でもよい)を作ることができない職業にばかり就く。

これでは荒尾市の未来なぞ誰がみても先細りである。

10年程前まで喫煙を生徒の目前で行い暴力を振るう教師がいた。ミーティングルームという教室を職員室カースト上位の教諭（中道豪、大川教諭等）で占有し、他の職員も黙認していた。
