Good museum with very expensive entrance fee. You have to pay for paking lot and also for museum. The museum board description has only 1% written in English. But there is movie theater which English subtitle, so u can enjoy historical of Aso mountain.

Very interesting place to visit and views as well. You can either take a bus tour or simply rent a car and rive there. Car is better bcs you can stop by anywhere you want and make pictures or choose places to eat.

Cool museum even though there was not a lot of English. Many pictures and a little English. Plus, there is a film that has multiple subtitles in many languages about Mt.Aso. It's worth it. Nice views of the volcano from the 3rd floor, too.

Lots of eating options including horse meat and wagyu beef sashimi. Local snacks like fish cake, takoyaki and some very special products like smoked tofu cheese and a variety of soy bean based drinks, snacks and dessert.

Most worth checking out. There is also a small museum at the street about the castle. We bought a combination ticket for the castle and the museum so we checked it out while waiting for a seat at the fancy hot stone restaurant.

A slightly dated museum that captures all the information on volcanoes and Mt Aso. Worth a visit to understand formation of volcanoes and its impact on the environment and people.

This is an amazing museum. We spent hours on a rainy afternoon because we didn’t want to hike in the rain. There was a great range of exhibits and an English speaking volunteer gave us some extra details and tips about where else to visit in the area. I’m not generally a big fan of museums but I love science and geography and I really enjoyed the time we spent here.

Informative museum with interactive exhibits and short movies on how the Aso caldera was formed.

You can experience the creation of nature that it makes you feel amazing the uprise of mountains and craters of volcanoes in the aftermath of magnificent quakes. People can imagine how the impeecable hurt of remembrance in the burst and outflush of lava to wash out the villages underneath the volcanoes, caued hundreds and thousands of causalities and homeless.

Nice and very informative museum. Soft milk ice-cream is the best.

It is a good museum for those who come to see the Aso volcano. The free exhibitions in the lobby were more interesting for us than the two floors that you have to buy a ticket for. A museum employee became interested in the first foreigners following the tourism reopening, and eventually gave us an informative tour of the exhibitions with good explanations. The paid floor lacked information in English and therefore those floors were less attractive.

very nice place to experience the volcano and the effect of earthquake. Theatre is cool!
the area near volcano (r=1km) is restricted. However, it's still good to walk around and take some photos.

Nice museum! It has a lot of dioramas. The scenery outside is also excellent. If you are lucky, you can meet horses in the field in front of the museum.
