臨済宗建長寺派の寺院です。交通量の多い、五日市街道に直ぐ面していて決して静かな境内ではないですが、歴史を感じさせる大木があって街道からも目立っています。
今は無住かどうかは分かりませんが、境内のガラス戸は固く閉ざされていて、中の様子を伺う事は出来ませんでした……😅
寺伝によると、元々は瑞穂町の殿ヶ谷戸にあった寺院との事ですが、殿ヶ谷分水が引かれ、この辺りが新田開発された事に伴い、移転してきたようです。
ちなみに禅宗寺院らしく、境内には石塔が点在していました。地蔵や観音像もキレイにされていました。
