Martian Desert Camp

A relaxed, no frills camp with incredibly friendly and helpful staff in a more traditional Bedouin style (as opposed to many of the new, high end space camps that are popping up). Excellent food and a really great location away from the lights of the town and other camps. If you're feeling adventurous, climb the mountain that hovers over the camp for amazing views especially at sunset. Been going to this location for years and never disappointed. You won't be either. For the animal lovers out there, there is even two amazing fur friends (one cat, one dog) to help you relax and enjoy the campfire.

For me this is the best camp in Wadi Rum, with the most authentic experience. The dinner was amazing. Room tents are clean and cozy, everything works perfect. The owner Shawki knows the best places for the jeep tour. We can’t wait to come back to this magical place :)

We spend two nights and days at Martian Desert camp at the end of December. Our stay was great. We had a bungalow with private bathroom which was very good choice. As we were with two young children we were offered additional heater. The room was clean and comfortable.
There was a plenty of food and it was very good. We especially enjoyed rice with dried fruit and traditional dish made underground. Common room is very pleasant place, with heater, board games, musical instruments etc. and free tea for the entire day.
Common bathrooms and toilets are also very comfortable and clean.
We did 1 hour camel tour and half day jeep tour. We enjoyed both very much.
No internet and very poor cell phone signal – but for us it was the advantage.
We truly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have great time at Wadi Rum desert.

We spent two nights there and had such a great time! We felt very comfortable and welcomed. The location and the nature is pretty stunning - especially the stars at night. The food is great and the staff is super friendly 😉 You can even play (and probably lose) a round of backgammon against them...

Martian desert camp was fantastic.they were so accommodating to my needs and ensured my happiness. The location was beautiful and the viewing deck was incredible! The only bad thing I have to say is I couldn't take home the beautiful dog Lil, who accompanied me on my camel trek. Highly recommend staying here and sleeping under the stars, if you feel inclined!! The food was brilliant and all the staff were really amazing!!! I'll miss Lil and Ali Baba!!!

One of the best camps in Wadi Rum! The owner of the camp is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, the food is delicious, the location is beautiful, and the prices are good and cheap.

Perfect place to chill out and enjoy the beauty of Wadi Rum. I traveled there solo and it was a great option - easy to join tours with other guests, seamless pick up from the bus, the camp organised my onward travel etc. Enjoyed their hiking, jeep tour, sunsets by the camp and campfires under the amazing stars. Yummy food, great hospitality - I wish I'd been there for longer than two nights.

Martian Desert Camp is one of (if not the) best camp I have ever visited in Wadi Rum. The atmosphere is very relaxed and its perfect for anyone who is looking to unwind, kick-back, and escape noise and the city. Ahmad and the staff are very helpful and take care of anything the customers need at any given moment. The food is delicious, and the price is quite cheap/reasonable. They also have a good variety of different lodging options (normal tents, tents with private bathrooms, Glass-window-Panorama tents), for different tastes. Highly recommended!

If you want to experience Rum the proper way, this camp is your go to place. The food is amazing, the space is super friendly and clean. The camp is located in a space where you can do multiple activities and the host is a great person to plan your trip with! Money well spent!

This camp is the reason why I like Wadi Rum, and makes it one of the best places in Jordan to have the excellent place to clear your mind. For years I am using this camp, and every time the host confirms that I did the right choice to come back.

Great experience and hospitality. We were warmly received by the friendly staff which included a lovely Saluki desert dog , Leil and the cat Ali Baba. Dinner was cooked in traditional “zarb” manner (underground) and was fantastic and plentiful . We enjoyed sand boarding and camel rides in the desert. The camp was cozy. It’s an excellent value for your money!

Ahmed is a great host and will arrange for you a jeep tour, a camel ride, a sunset view etc.
Just around the big rock formation st the camp are some petroglyphs.

Ahmad is an amazing host. The camp is located in a quiet area. You can climb the mountain near by to the top and you will have the most beautiful sunset with a magnificent panorama. You can also go hiking with him. I really liked the food. In the evening you can enjoy a tea at the campfire.

I live in Jordan and I go to Martian Desert Camp every time I need an escape from the city. Is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace of the desert. The owner of the Camp is always available and ready to meet costumers' needs. Highly recommended

Great camp! Very quite, relaxing and your perfect authentic getaway place. They care about recycling, taking care of animals and in general it feels like home.
