Desert Bird Camp - Wadi Rum Desert

We are happy that we chose this camping. The location was better then we could imagine! Being there felt like we were alone in the Wadi Rum desert under this stunning starry sky. Everything in accommodation was perfect - process of booking, hospitality, food and cleanliness. We are dreaming of returning at this place and staying in this camping for a longer time. I had the greatest time at Desert Bird Camp! My stay there was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Jordan, the camp is located in a beautiful place with amazing views from the Wadi Rum Desert, the accommodations are great and everyone in the staff is really friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and the atmosphere there is just perfect for anyone looking to relax and having a genuine bedouin experience. Special thanks to Tawfiq, the owner who helped me with everything i needed and made sure my stay at the camp was perfect! I would definitely go back and recommend it 100% for anyone visiting Wadi Rum!

We paid 25 JD for the jeep tour (price per person) from 2:30 p.m. until sundown with a night's sleep in a tent in the desert. Dinner and breakfast were sent back to the village in the morning. In fact, we enjoy every activity. But really, I just want to sit and watch the sunset in the evening and sleep in a tent in the middle of the desert. Thank you Mahmoud for dinner and breakfast. The tent is clean. The shared bathroom is very clean.

Great and clear communication via whatsapp, pick up and drop off on time. We enjoyed the half day dessert tour with Satam including most major sites as well as sunset. Camp is nicely setup and clean. Hot water in the bathroom/shower came quite handy. Extra blankets available for chilly nights. Enjoyable breakfast and dinner. Would come back again.

One of the best location in Wadi Rum. The camp is just in front of a small arch where you can enjoy the sunrise.
The window view from your room is simply stunning.
I stayed there for 5 days and I had an incredible time. I am a woman travelling alone and I felt perfectly safe in the camp.
The hosts are really kind and helpful.
I was by myself on the first day and I felt completely secure here.
The shared bathroom and all the facilities are sparkling clean and the food was good.

The camp was wonderful. They picked me up at the Wadi Rum visitor center, and dropped me off at the camp. The camp is very comfortable, super quiet, and beautiful. The staff is very kind and helpful, they help you with everything. The food is delicious, varied and if you like to eat as much as me you came to the right place 🤩 The tours are very good. I stayed two nights, and had a great time.

We were a group of three friends and had an amazing time at the Desert Bird Camp. The triple bed tent was very comfy and the blankets provided were really warm. We were able to see the sunset over Wadi Rum upon arrival and we booked a 6 hr jeep trip around the desert, where our Bedouin guide showed us the most interesting landmarks in the area. We had a 30 minute camel ride, which was also very fun. Traditional Bedouin food was served for dinner - a very unique experience. I definitely recommend Desert Bird Camp to anyone who wants to see the beauty of Wadi Rum.

we had the best time at the camp. The food is great, the people treat you really nice and the rooms are very cozy. The whole atmosphere in the camp is unbelievable. We really recommend the Wadi rum tour, it was so beautiful and goes as long as you want. All in all the camp is beautiful and a great experience that you will never forget. Especially for the price. I can just recommend the desert bird camp and loved it.

I came to this beautiful place for the second time and still don’t have enough. The longer the stay the better, to soak up the views, dive into a new perception of time, learn more about Bedouin culture, and have more nights under the clear sky full of stars.

Wadi Rum was empty this year due to the war. Empty desert and more beautiful than ever. Desert Bird is a good camp. Same boarding available nearby. Great places to hike up and see sunset too.

Also, I went rock climbing with Hussein as my guide and he was excellent. Highlight of the trip. Excellent bolted sport climbing.

Absolutely great time in Wadi-Rum with desert bird camp. The tour was great fun our guild Satam was very friendly and with good humour. He adapted the tour to accommodate my partners bad knee and brought us to some amazing places.

The tents were well furnished, comfortable and the food was great. Would recommend staying with these guys for sure.

My wife, my daughther (12) and I spent one night (end of March 2024) in the Desert Bird Camp in Wadi Rum. It is a wonderful place!
Conversation/booking went via whatsapp (also possible via other ways and booking portals) and was very uncomplicated as well as friendly. Our host picked us up on time at the place we had aligned on.
We did a 4 hour jeep tour with an English speaking Beduine guide and saw fantastic places as well as the sunset. The guide always provided us with water and offered help when needed.
Dinner and breakfast was simple but super delicious, local traditional food from the Beduine oven in the ground of the desert.
After dinner we sat/laid with our host at the fireplace, talked about traditional Beduine life in the earlier days and the life today - super interesting.
There is a bathroom house (toilets/shower) in the camp which is suprisingly modern and also very clean.
The tents are cosy, clean and spacious. When we stayed there only 3 of the 14 tents we booked, therefore we felt it was pretty exclusive.
We always felt super safe and had no worries to leave our luggage be it in the jeep (while walking around) or in the tent.
The short camel ride (30 minutes) we took the next morning was also super organised - and long enough for our backs and b&tts... ;-)
We definitely want to and will come back to this fantastic place where we felt like members of Tawfiq's family. Thanks for your great hospitality, Tawfiq - and hopefully see you soon again!

Amazing place! The staff, location and structure are awesome! Clean bathrooms, the big tent, the hammock in the cave that is perfect to take a rest, everything is so nice. It's a place where I feel like home.
We did a jeep tour that was INCREDIBLE! The guide was so kind and having fun with us, he took us to some untouched places where there were no tourists.

One of the best experiences I have ever had. The hospitality provided by Tawfig and its tribe is excellent. We tried their traditional dishes, had some tea during the sunset, learnt from the Bedouin traditions, did some tours on their 4x4s and even ride camels in the desert. Imagine watching the stars in the middle of the desert, so we did it as well.

If you come to Wadi Rum, let Tawfiq be your host, you will not regret!

Extremely clean rooms and big tent. The chef Mahmoud cooks up the most delicious meals. Everyone here is kind and hospitable. Tawfik greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel at home. Not only is he a great host but he is a fantastic photographer. He took these pictures that I have attached to this review. You don’t feel like they are trying to upsell you on anything. In fact, it’s like they are here and they genuinely like having folks visit and to share the experience. We did a jeep tour of some of the sites in the desert. Bathrooms are clean and you won’t get any service here but it’s a great way to disconnect from the world for a few days. I can’t wait to come back.

Awesome experience. We were originally going to stay one night, but decided to extend our stay. Hosts were very nice and were spent a lot of their time with us. We also booked a whole day jeep tour and visited many amazing places in the desert.

We really loved our stay in Desert Bird Camp. Tawfiq goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and to show you places where other tourists don’t go. He took us to see wadi rum’s camel racing spot and to visit his own camel. If you’d like an authentic and welcoming experience where you are not always being pressured to spend more money, Tawfiq’s camp is the place to go.

For an unforgettable experience in the desert, the Desert Bird Camp in Wadi Rum is the place to go. The chef does a great job in the kitchen cooking authentic bedouin food and the owner takes you on wonderful Jeep rides to discover the desert, hike and see beautiful sunsets or sunrises and many more activities. Big recommendation for this camp.

Great camp! Beautiful location, in the morning there were camels while having breakfast. I did a jeep tour and saw some amazing spots. Tawfiq is very nice.

Our stay at Bird camp was the highlight of our Jordan trip. We have really enjoyed pretty much everything there. The hospitality of the Bedouins was overwhelming.
