Stayed for 8 nights on our climbing trip to Wadi Rum. Hamdan’s property is great - comfortable and clean tents with a small heater, and plenty of room for all of our kit. The included delicious breakfast and evening meal makes it very good value (and they cater for vegetarians). Hamdan is very accommodating and helpful, organising transport and a jeep tour with a personal, family touch on our rest day.
The shared women’s bathroom was well attended to and clean, and the shower was always hot! A good spot to meet other climbers and hang out in the evening with a cup of Bedouin tea. Very close to shops and easy walking access to Jebel Rum.

The owner is an extremely honest and friendly trustworthy person.he helped us when we had problems as the desert dream hotel bribed us to pay 200 JD extra.he is loyal about everything and prices.tje tent was very nice, the bathroom very clean! The location is maybe a little bit too light polluted but you have a supermarket and some infrast next door.he booked an amazing tour for us for a reasonable price and we could see the village side and beduine authentic adventure.hihhly recommend

Hamdan (the owner) was fantastic, food was great, super price and perfect location for the climbing we were there for. I haven’t visited any other of the accom options in Wadi Rum but I suspect this to be the best one in the village! Recommended!

The camp is very clean, from the rooms to the bathroom. Hamdan the owner of the camp is very welcoming and is keen to help with anything you would need. Also the camp is very close to jabal Rum so it’s easy to walk up to it and climb.

Sucram!!!

This is a camp INSIDE the village. My only complaint is that they don't provide towels. Otherwise, this accommodation provides everything you need with the pros (and cons) of being inside the village. Info about stargazing at the end.

Having been to Wadi Rum three times so far, I have tried both options of camping in the village or deep in the desert. The village option is cheaper (but didn't include a tour) and is located within a 5 min walking distance of the mini marts, a restaurant and the tourist car park. The car park is where the coaster buses depart to Aqaba and Wadi Musa (Petra), and they'll even come to the door if you ask Hamdan!

Something to keep in mind is that the price difference between village and desert camping would shrink if you factor into account that almost all camps offer a desert tour as part of their packages. The tour is very much worth it as the canyon is too huge to walk on foot. Most landmarks are far away from the village and at least 2-3 kilometers apart from each other, which means that you might want to consider booking a tour even if you're staying in this camp.

My main and only issue with staying in town is that you can't get completely rid of its lights if you intend to stargaze. Even if you walk half an hour in either direction, the town's lights will remain visible and you won't find any landmarks to hide behind. That's just a small inconvenience to balance the benefits of being in town and close to the buses, so choose wisely!

Good option for climbers!
