Zarb Desert Camp

Mahmoud & Sabah were attentive to us. They had offered us homemade food and they had accompanied us to see Wadi Rum desert! It was a great experience for us 😄

Hem tingut una estada fantàstica al Zarb Desert Camp. Tot el personal és molt atent i simpàtic, i el menjar que ens han ofert, boníssim. El campament és petit i això crea un ambient molt tranquil, la localització també és perfecta. Les habitacions estan més que bé, equipades amb lavabo, wifi i electricitat. Una autèntica experiència al desert amb totes les comoditats.

The Zarb Camp is uniquely positioned at a very panoramic location. Great postcard views, and the two staff working the camp worked very hard to make my experience the best. They unfortunately had to lay off staff due to the drop in tourism, and with the lack of sunlight, had to rely on generators to run electricity vs. solar powered cells. These generators went off on on throughout causing some issue, but I had to keep reminding myself that 'it is a camp' not a city hotel. That being said, remember the following when booking a camp like this:

1) Check forecasts before booking. If any rain (unless you like it) re-book to clear days so you get the benefit of the night sky and sunrise/sunsets. You are in tents, so the elements do affect them if the weather is rough.

2) DO NOT plan on using any electronics or anything Wi-Fi enabled (incld. your smartphone, unless on a satellite/international plan). It is better to plan not to use it vs. rely on it an have it not connect or not be able to be charge.
Bring a portable powerbank /solar powered charger to charge devices vs. rely on electrical connections. You never know, and you are out in the middle of the desert.

3) Remember you are in a CAMP! Do not expect the amenities of a normal city hotel.

4.) Bring snacks to bridge between meals that are served. The meals may have to be driven in from offsite to the camp and may not be at the temp you wish them to be.

Nos hicieron sentir muy mal por no coger el tour con ellos (comparamos precios y ellos eran super caros). Luego, nos cobraron en traslado, 15 JOD de la nada que no estabamos avisados de ello en ningún momento. La comida podria ser mejor. El agua caliente de la ducha no funcionaba. No vayais. Para mi, unos estafadores. Pasamos otra noche en el desierto y la experiencia en el otro sitio fue maravillosa.
