어처구니 없는 상황(같은 비행기내 승객의 분실사고로 인해 억울하게 오인받아 증거없이 추측만으로 2일간 경찰조사, 중범죄자가 받는 수준의 신변수색, 약식 재판, 지문/DNA 검체 채취까지 받는 어처구니 없는 일을 겪음)으로 상식 밖을 넘어서는 굉장히 억울한 일을 당해서 경찰수사 및 재판 등을 포함한 큰일을 겪었습니다. 다행히 무죄로 판결되었지만, 모든 여행 일정을 망쳤으며, 정신적, 재정적 손실이 심각해서 귀국할 수 밖에 없었습니다. 나름 장기간 해외생활로 영어가 익숙해도 현지 경찰들은 영어로 의사소통이 거의 불가능한 수준입니다.
다행히 요르단 주재 한국 대사관 직원들께서 주말인데도 불구하고 틈틈히 연락을 주고 (총 20여차례 이상 시간에 상관없이. 이른 오전과 늦은 밤에도), 상황을 지켜봐 주셔서 큰 힘이 되었습니다. 특히 김ㅇㅇ 구영사님, 후임분, 이ㅇㅇ 서기관님께 진심으로 감사드립니다.

개인적인 소견이지만, 요르단에서는 상식 밖의 일이 일어날 수 있음을 인지하시고, 본인이 잘못한 일이 없어도 순식간에 (사실 확인 없이) 범죄자가 될 수 있는 나라임을 알려드리고 싶습니다.
