The royal tombs collectively were absolutely stunning. Although greatly eroded, their former grandeurs are not hard to imagine.

This is one of the biggest of Royal Tombs and has one of the most intricate facades in whole of Petra. The inside is a play of amazing colors in the carved mountain rock.

Simply stunning! Details, colours, and history. Petra is huge and impressive, beyond words. After the Royal Tomb, one can find the trail to the place from where they can see Petra from Above.

The detail is stunning!! These tombs are so intricately carved and while the rooms inside are not that big it is important to keep in mind that this was all done by hand. Amazing. There are lots of ways up to the tombs and they should be admired both far and near.

The Palace Tomb is for me one of the most impressive "buildings" in Petra. Especially, because nobody knows what it's been used for. It's just mysterious. No signs of graves or burials have been discovered.

About Petra
Historical place in Jordan

Petra, originally known to its inhabitants as Raqmu or Raqēmō, is a historic and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system, Petra is also called the "Rose City" because of the colour of the sandstone from which it is carved; it was famously called "a rose-red city half as old as time" in a poem of 1845 by John Burgon. source
